Is this a recent thing or has it always happened?

Is it games with a lot of gfx/sounds to pre-load?

If you're feeling confident, disable Avast totally (maybe disconnect your internet temporarily) and if it still freezes, at least you've totally eliminated that as a possibility.

I just noticed that the post count is not displayed under the user avatar. Is it intentional or mistake?

I noticed also, but I thought it may be because of the use of rep points being more relevant here.

One possibility I've seen is anti-virus software scanning the temp.exe. I put in a bypass or Kaspersky would do the same to me.

You are buying Microsoft Windows which have Microsoft IE inside. Don't like it, don't use - simple as that.

I hate everything MicroS**T, but due to it's market prevalence, and work requirements, I need to use it. Choice isn't always a possibility. :(

I've just tried to edit a post from a couple of days ago and it worked fine.

I did, however, have to allow scripts from 'scirra.net' to run in order for it to work (I always block scripts by default in FF5 using NoScript) so maybe it's that.

Strange behaviour.....

Just read all new posts added since my last vist, replied to a couple of posts, then clicked on forum parent link, and noticed that all the posts I'd already read where highlighted again, as though I hadn't yet read them.

Very strange.

Clicking bottom 'mark all posts read' link cleared them, but still thought it may be worth mentioning.

I use Firefox 5 with NoScript and block all scripting unless I specifically allow it.

I allowed scirra.com, but this message occurs if you don't also allow scirra.net.
