  • Recently, the team at Scirra updated their post, to clarify that Construct 3 works offline. Unfortunately, this is very vague:

To start off, is the offline version still browser based? Does it require an internet connection to access it in the first place?

The preferred option would be to have a fully offline stand-alone application. This would mean I would not have to rely on browsers whatsoever when using the program.

Will I be able to export the projects when offline? This would be a major inconvenience if I couldn't.

    Thanks,

Warning: Not for the faint-hearted. Contains uncomfortable content.

This is 4 Cats - My second game made using Construct 2. This game was made primarily as a test for intergrating Spriter into C2, and as a base for more side-on shooter games in the future.

    Development History

The game was originally made for the AGBIC Game jam. The main concept was to make a game based on a fake cover, from the famicase exhibition. We chose a cover called "4 Cats".

Since we had recently bought a copy of spriter, we thought that it would be a good idea to use fully animated sprites, as you can see in the game. The downside is that the animation changes can lead to bugs/glitches. A lot of them. We managed to stomp out most of them, and the game is much better now. It did take a long time, though, and we missed the deadline for the jam by... well... 4 Months.

But still, the game is definitely worth playing, if you want a unique experience. Have fun and please leave feedback!

  • Hmm... Still not working. The person is still going through the stairs. Is there anything else I can try?

I've managed to do it one way. It's kind of buggy, but it works, at least.

It sets a Diagonal Line solid, and then disables it if you are in a certain place. It doesn't work too well, and glitches out when you jump.

  • I guess it depends how nice you want it to look... you could just have a solid platform, invissible and at an agle and a sprite of stairs (not doing anything) covering that platform. Then have your player have a stairs walking animation trigger when he is on the angled platform.

    I'll Try that. Thanks

  • I've been working on a mission where you climb a tower and shoot enemies. However, it seems that the "Jump-Thru" Behavior does not work with stairs

You just move through the platform, instead of going up it. Any Ideas to let you climb the stairs?
