  • IE9 actually has the best Canvas performance over any other browser :) Thanks for the report about search, I will look into it. I remember someone else mentioning something similar also.

  • One site I recently visited that changed it's website now has a homepage of around 2.5mb! It has the benefit of a more dynamic look and feel perhaps, but I prefer the philosophy of keeping it really trim and as accessible as possible.

  • I've tried to be really careful designing the site, when all initial caches are primed, each page served is around 4kb to 8kb in size, which is extremely tiny. This should be of great benefit to anyone on a mobile device, and also for everyone in general as I find they tend to load really really quickly.

  • I think it's to do with session cookies. This site is fairly unique in the way it's set up, all of the site is written in ASP.net except the forum, which is Classic ASP (trust me, we thought about this design very very carefully before rolling out with it!)

When you have two different languages, they can't interact with each others session objects in memory. This isn't very helpful for us, but it can be worked around.

  • The homepage for Scirra.com is blazingly fast for me now :) I'll hopefully be rolling this upgrade out to the forum pages when V10 is online.

  • I do want to add a lot more stuff to the profile to make it really cool, but too many things above it on the list atm I'm afraid :)

  • It's set to +1 when anyone views it, including you. Next build (tonight probably) will be only other people. I'm not going to do it unique per IP... yet. It's something I will look at implementing in the future though.

  • Thanks shinkan, I've seen them before as well, I'm on it!

  • Apart for the forum (temporarially) the rest of the site should be serving CSS/JS from our static domains (static.scirra.net to static4.scirra.net). This should improve page performance (it looks like on the homepage in my initial tests it's speed up for as much as 100-200ms).

It required another DNS propogation which I left for a few days, I've also run some propogation worldwide checks and they all came back clear, but if you have any issues please post them in here.

  • Fixed!
