  • I've looked on the Internet for Samus pixel size and the sizes of each "block" that builds the levels. I've found each room to be 256x240 pixels, 32x30 pixels, and broken down each block 4x4 or 8x8. Not sure which is correct or if it is something else. Samus was 16x48 or maybe I'm off. Anyone know the exact?

    Thanks.

  • Nice work. What program do you use?

  • I will have to check in with Surface Pro pad and Fujitsu. Thanks. I also thought Adobe charged for photoshop, that's why I went with GIMP.

    Thanks again.

  • So I'm looking over the kit builders at the Scirra store and have a few questions and opinion requests.

    1. Can I download the kit, swap all the graphics for my creations?

    2. Can I expand on their level layouts, move things, add or delete things (say,I download the Metroidvania and want to use part of the level layout, but remap the rest?

    3. What is the best one to create a auto runner like Vector and make it split screen for 2 player race?

    4. Which is the best beat em up kit that can allow 2 player split screen?

    5. What advice would you give me if I wanted to go this route to create a game?

    Thanks

  • Sounds like a different spin on the characters rather than using say midevil knights, wizards, mages, ...etc. it could appeal to a new demographic audience if done right. Do you have several different types of original super heroes created? Would you attempt to try and license DC or Marvel characters? Would your normal non superhero character you control eventually gain various super powers? I think if you can continue adding upgrades me powers you would add value to the gameplay. Will each earned superhero have a time limit gauge so you need to strategically use them at specific times?

You might have something going with using super heroes instead of the standard. Give it a shot.

  • So, I'd like to get a light weight portable tablet, that I can do Construct on. I also plan on using GIMP to create pixel art. I want something at a reasonable cost, but is flat enough to lug around and powerful enough to run the software. Maybe even hook up my Wacom tablet to it from time yo time. I was wondering if anyone had a good suggestion/review on one. Laptop is to big.

    Thanks

  • Excite bike was the first game I had to blow in to make it work

I was a huge fan of the Road Rash series on Genesis.

Double Dragon 2 anyone? How many time did you pushed Abobo from the helicopter before fighting Arnold on the secret base?

I'm a little late to the party here, but I do remember and when I fire up the old DD2, I still push them out. Best co op game.

  • This is hard, because it does change every so often. Here is what currently comes to mind.

    1. The Last of Us

    2. Double Dragon 2 Nes Version

    3. The Ninja (Sega Master System)

    4. Zelda Link To The Past (Super Nes)

    5. Mirror's Edge

    6. Vandal Hearts

    7. Super Metroid

    8. Batman Arkham Asylum

    9. Tenchu Wrath of Heaven

    10. Axiom Verge or Elliot Quest (Two great indie games...I can't decide.)

  • Thanks for the link. I will def look in to it more. I just briefly glanced at it. I have layouts, sequencing, art constantly being worked on when I get the chance. I just need a programmer or try to find time to learn and do it. If I can't find a programmer, then I hope I can use that kit and just rework the levels with my stuff and get it to go. Of, course I imagine that layout will change since mine is different and different sequencing. Someday, I will get it on Steam or maybe more.

    Thanks again.

  • So I'm looking in to making a Metroid type game and was wondering if there is a prototype someone created where I can download and tinker with such as swap art, characters, music, etc? Trying to learn this program, as I'm pretty new to it.

    Thanks

  • Hey Justin. Thanks. Can you email me at staleevolution gmail dotcom

  • It would be free. Once ported to devices, I have no prob sharing profit equally.

Shoot me an email at staleevolution at gmail

We can also discuss an upfront price if you don't want to share profits.

    Thanks

  • The game I'm currently doing is a "space invaders" type, but with a few twists. It would work on mobile touch screen and even better on steam with a controller. Anyone interested in programming all the art to make it happen?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Looking to get my pixel art frames up and running on mobile devices and hopefully Steam.

Have no problem sharing profits (discuss in detail), but would love to start with some press start and play games to build a team company. If it grows larger...great, but if not, it would just be nice to have the games out there to play.

1st game art and frames are almost complete (simple style game).

2nd and 3rd are also being worked on and in m downtime I'm slowly building a somewhat bigger game.

    I use Gimp. Love it.

Any takers or some just wanting to code a simple game, I would appreciate it.

  • Scir a won't let me post links so just Google plus Ouya Community, not the main Ouya, but the 3,800 member community on Google plus. My animation concepts are like the 2nd-3rd post as of today's date under Stale Evol.
