  • I think it depends on what is going on outside of the battle system. In my game I used one layout for the battles and one layout for the world, while my menu system was a global layer.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Tell him why you think he should walk. Ultimately it's up to him if he wants to walk though. You can't force him, you can only communicate your desires

Wrong. You own him. His will to walk means nothing. Dominate his will and make him your slave.

  • Yes, that's right, I said crypto! Wow, how exciting!

I would like to preface this question with the fact that I am still a novice (though improving) at Construct. So any suggestions would be best received in a copy paste format or as simply as possible. I am also a novice in the field of cryptocurrency, though I have understanding of the general concepts and have been trading for a couple years.

So, here's what I would like to do:

I want to have a video advertisement option, which the user watches in order to get an in-game reward. I have some idea of how to do this via Google AdMob, but I would like to use alternative methods to receive my developer compensation, specifically I would like to get paid in cryptocurrency.

    Questions:

    1. What is the best way to use alternative advertisement networks? Which of these networks have implemented cryptocurrency? I have skimmed the surface of the Basic Attention Token, which might work, but I have no idea how I would go about implementing it.
    2. What is the EASIEST way to integrate this into my app?
    3. What other ideas, thoughts, suggestions, etc, come to mind in relation to my question?

Thank you so much, my awesome and smart Construct family! I <3 Construct forever.

Thanks guys for the excellent information! I appreciate your time and thoughts

  • I'll just *bump* this once, because I got no responses. I also want to link in some of the more experienced and active users on our forum to see if they have anything to say:

  • Try using browser-reload.

Does browser reload work when exported to APK or IPA?

  • Just found blackhornets PlayFab tutorial. Thanks for that!!

So maybe this is the answer to my question? It's free and looks doable. I think it covers both player accounts and cloud saving. But perhaps Chandori's is easier for a beginner? IDK

So now the question is, Which service is better for my needs? Firebase or PlayFab? Again, i'm looking for ease of use and cheap. I'm not really concerned with having a whole suite of utilities.

  • Hi all,

I know this has been discussed before but I am still finding it hard to find a clear answer.

I would like the user to use their email to 'create an account' (either on Google or FB). Once this is done, all their data is saved on an array that is associated with that account and which is located on 'the cloud'. This array will be sporadically updated while the player is playing.

So now, I have been reading many of the old posts and I have found these two options:

    1. constructfirebase.com/plans-pricing

    2. constructcollection.com/construct-playfab-api

    ...

So my question is, which is the best choice for my purposes? Or, is there a better choice?

I know zero JS, but I feel comfortable copy/pasting code if that is needed, but would prefer to use the C3 native choices. I want to keep it as simple (and cheap) as possible.

  • Hi all,

I have a couple questions centered around the topic of hiring Construct developers:

    1. What type of documentation does the developer usually require? Is there an industry standard?

2a. What are the normal contract types and how does pay work for each? (Ie. What if I just need a single part of a whole? What if the intended project takes way longer than expected? Etc..)

2b. What is a normal pay range for developers?

    3. How does the employer protect their assets, ideas, etc. ?

    4. How does the employer assure quality? (Ie. What if the employer is not happy with the results but the developer feels it is adequate? What if there are bugs later on down the line? Etc.)

    Thanks all

  • I've had this issue in the past. It was something related to one of the updates, but was then promptly fixed in the next.

When this happened to me, I went from Chrome to Internet Explorer and it fixed the issue. I'm back on Chrome now with no problems.

  • This works for me. The only difference that I can see is you are trying to input the dimensions via the AJAX object, where as I create and then set them directly into to the Array object.

Your way looks cooler and more advanced, but my way ... works? Let me know if you can figure it out, because I use this process quite often and would love to know a shortcut!

  • I'm not exactly sure what your looking for.

  • Hi friends!

My App is now live on BOTH the Apple AppStore AND the Android PlayStore!

This is my first attempt at making an app. It took me almost 2 years, but I made it! Thank you Construct for being so n00b friendly. And thank you to all of you forum friends who were there to help me when I got stuck.
