  • Is that the easiest way?

any other easier way to do this?

  • Hi all,

I've been trying this for 2 hours trying to figure out ..

I'm having a brain fart here, hope you can help.

    With drag and drop.

I can do the when overlapping part ..NO problem there...

THE PROBLEM IS when its not overlapping I want a smooth movement to purple sprite.

    Problem:

Arrow/ On Dragdrop drop / is NOT overlapping brown sprite / I want the arrow ( without changing the angle)

to smoothly move and 'lock on' to purple sprite.

I can position there now but its is instantly, not smooth at all.

Do I enable a bullet behaviors to move there smoothly .?

oh, and I don't want to change the angle of the arrow please..keep at the current angle (arrow pointing to left as well) .. please

    How?

If possible, post a capx please.

Thanks for looking / Thanks for helping. Much appreciated.

    fixed.

  • Hi Everybody.

I thought I would tell you about a new style of tutorial (tut)

    I just made.

It's in Game Play Format (GPF) meaning the learner

plays a game to learn a new C2 skill.

The first GPF Tut is for Newbies but I hope to make more as time allows.

Please take a look if you have the time.

    Thanks for looking.

  • Skimmed the book... seems very well written !

Thanks for posting !! Much Appreciated !!

  • There are a few things that need tiny little tweaks and adjustments on C2. Scirra is a 2 man team, so this may be something added down the road, or not. Don't sweat it too much.

  • I have the Ultimate edition of GMS and I still use Construct 2.

With any software, especially game making software, there are pluses and minuses.

The big pluses for C2 for me are:

    simplicity of use,

    the online tutorials,

the templates and examples built into the software,

the event sheet system makes finding problems much easier,

    and

the people in the forum seem to be eager to help newbies.

C2's team is constantly upgrading and improving the software,

so any limitations that C2 has today, may be resolved tomorrow.

  • okay, I see what you are saying. In that case, I'd like to see that kind of a feature as well. It would be handy to simplify the process for users to be upload their tutorial entry example files in action (and I mean either easier than the arcade, or separate). :)

I know that the team is very busy doing other things, lets cross our fingers that this these will be improved soon.

yes users can upload their own files,

but I am talking about the links to sample games for example,

or the link to show what the tut does..

these samples now go to a personal dropbox and that is the problem: so many links are broken.

    and

I'm not saying making it a 'requirement' per say, I mean, the tut maker can add a link anywhere on the tut he or she likes,

I am saying it would be nice if the tut maker had it available to upload their sample to a Scirra provided link so wouldn't get deleted .....

in fact, maybe it could be a subsection of The Arcade where these type of samples could be downloaded and stored.

    Anyway, just a thought.

  • VictoryX   agreed

  • jayderyu ,

    so thumbs up basically.

  • I am not opposed to buying capx files if they are what I want,

    but

I need to play the game first.

Please put the game in the Arcade or upload your game to dropbox

  • Thanks, I will do my best

  • Animare I think you will find that Construct 2 can do almost anything you want in 2d. I was using yoyogames Game Maker Studio and I find C2 to be much easier to `code` with and the Scirra software comes with so many working templates AND the forum here and the on-line tutorials have so much useful information and many members eager to help out ... I mean you just got a freebie now from Tobye .... .
