  • Try to use 2 save slots one for level 1 and the other for level 2.

I forgot to reply that I figured it out but thanks. What I did was different I made a global variable for each level and on completion I was able to save in the same slot.

  • Ok I have 2 levels of a platformer made and a stage selection screen that works but here is the problem.

I have a door in my game and when the main player collides with the door I have the code

Player on collide with door...... System wait 0.5

System Save game to slot "GameSave"

System add 1 to Win1 ( my variable to unlock the next level)

    System Go to level select

Now on my stage selection screen I have this code to load the save

System On load complete.....System load game from slot "GameSave"

Where should I put the save code and the load code for it to work correctly.

How was the revenue compare to Admob , etc2 ?

On Googleplay I say banner ADs Admob pays more but on full page ADs (interstials) Notifymob pays much better than Admob. Now off Googleplay is where Notifymob really shines with eCPM of $3-$6 .

So if you choose Notifymob go for the full page ADs to earn more than ADmob.

  • I have downloaded several games and 2 of them I am shocked didn't reach high download numbers. Hoppu was one and the one that really surprised me was Key and Shield. Key and Shield is a very solid game , better than %70 of the appstore . You guys need to promote better cause there are some great games made with construct that haven't reached high on the Markets. Key and Shield should be in the top 100 easy.

  • Ok

1st) If its a free game no developer should have shame with putting ADs in their games. We work hard and deserve a little revenue for our work in making free entertianment for people. If your a developer never let anyone shame you into thinking you shouldn't put ADs.

2nd) I used to use leadbolt they start off great and then slow down after 4-6 months. I guess that's how they hook you. Implementing was easy but thats because I coded in straight HTML + javascript. My games were too simple and that's why I am here to use a more robust toolset.

3rd) There are other AD networks like Notifymob and Airpush that pay more. With Notifymob they will put the ADs in the game for you. With Airpush they will make a plugin for you but you need some coding experience.

Finally do not listen to people who complain about ADs. There was a recent war on that very subject online it was on facebook and another android forum. Developers stuck together and finally quieted anyone who complained about ADs. I wish all you success and I will post more marketing tips and ways to promote your android apps. I have a large android forum where you can post your game or apps for more exposure too.

I can't post links so just combine the http with the other part. Any questions you have feel free to ask.

  • > Penelope is on the Wii U and it was made with construct. Contact the developer personally and maybe he can help you.

    >

Wrong and terrible advice, don't follow it.

NDA means you legally aren't allowed to discuss the subject of the NDA. Period.

In the case of Wii U development, you can fill the application to become Authorized Developer and then will get access to a private forum where you'll be able to download Wii U development with other Authorized Developers.

Contacting any known AD while not being Authorized yourself is just a waste of time. Yours, and the person you are contacting.

Moreover, Aurel is in the final touches to release his game during January he has a lot of other things to do for now. Better leave him alone in this critical time.

I think you jumped the gun a bit. He is not asking about NDA just how to become a Wii U developer. If no one asked how to become a Wii U developer , then no one would be one.

Wow we need to be more friendly here.

  • Okay thanks i didnt know nobody could discuss that topic on here

Penelope is on the Wii U and it was made with construct. Contact the developer personally and maybe he can help you.

  • This question comes up a lot and I will post the opinion of this gamer called Eurodude. Afterwards I will explain what the misconceptions are

"Let me speak from a users most of us can't afford your expensive " apps" . A dollar here and a dollar there add's up to $15-20 bucks a month. Over a years time thats like $120 now times that by ten years of having a cellphone that's $1,200 . Now I don't have deep pockets like you developers , I don't have $1,200 play money to spend on whatever the hell I want. I have bill's to pay and family to take care of. So when you moan and whine about profits from your pen--house loft maybe you should think hey I should make that paid game free. I mean what give you the fucking right to judge people like everyone has fucking $1,200 dollars laying around to buy your stupid apps. I swear you rich people don't give a shit about the average joe , I never seen a broke developer in my life. Why don't one of you pull out $1,200 and hand it over to me so I can experience what its like to walk around with a pocket full of fat cash."

The misconception of people like him is he is only judging what he see's in the top of the appstores. He doesn't understand most developers don't make money like Marvel , flappybird, disney, and candy crush guys. But since those are the featured games and apps with millions of downloads that the assumption gamers like him have that we all have deep pockets. The full thread could be read here

    http:// androidfreegamesapps.forumotion.com/t440-how-do-we-stop-android-piracy-any-ideas

Once developer does come in and destroyed him in EPIC fashion to the point he couldn't respond but I think understanding where this attitude came from is more important.

  • You do not have permission to view this post

  • Do you know anything about this? And will we still be able to make apps with construct 2

As we announced in October, beginning February 1, 2015 new iOS apps submitted to the App Store must include 64-bit support and be built with the iOS 8 SDK. Beginning June 1, 2015 app updates will also need to follow the same requirements. To enable 64-bit in your project, we recommend using the default Xcode build setting of “Standard architectures” to build a single binary with both 32-bit and 64-bit code.

IOS has support for HTML so I guess Construct2 will make the changes nessary to work with IOS 8 plus it wouldn't be good for Apple buisness wise to cut off thier own revenue by excluding 3 party software. If Apple goes through with this, it will be the nail in the coffin for them. Most games that are popular are made with 3 party tools like Construct,Unity,Gamesalad, and Unreal. I call their bluff , no way Apple does this.

  • Actually if you have a game already lets say %20 done with high quality art assets , you have a chance. Most of the games I seen really do well are console based as far as graphics.

  • These are some amazing assets your giving out for free!! Thanks for the nice selection.

  • I don't think its just construct because a simple game I made in pure HTML + javascript failed in XDK. If you have an orlder version of XDK use that because they updated it and now it causes all types of bugs in apps.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I posted this on my website but I am sharing it with you to help you guys have better success.

Ok you put time and effort into your games or apps but still cant seem to get downloads. You might even see a game or app similar to yours but for some reason they are charting but your not. There are over 100,000 developers and over a million apps on googleplay. What are they doing that your not?

    1) Website- I see a lot of developers that have a single blog page for all their apps. Look at the format of google play and match your website as close as you can to what google play has. Why? Customers are use to a certain format and like things that look familiar . Think like a customer when building a website and put the same effort as you were in programming your apps.

2)Social Networking-Make a twitter and facebook account. Any app release you have or updates post them. You can even interact with customers and get feedback directly from them. Use this as a tool to learn from real people and adjust your game or app based on feedback.

3)Make Niche Apps- There is no way indie developers can match the power of big companies. Rather than try to take on gameloft or EA focus on niche apps. Small apps like car locators or how to cook books. Small apps like these have been know to get more downloads vs making a game going against a bigger company. Small focused apps or simple games with great graphics can draw people to your app.

4)Post in Forums- Post your game or app in several forums. Be careful as many forums are not really indie friendly. Most forums have a section where you can post games or apps away from where regular forum users cant see. Also you might run into jealous developers who have nothing better to do then degrade your game. Post in several forums to bring in users but remember this is only a small part of your marketing efforts. This forums is very developer friendly though.

5)Rate Me Button- In your apps your should have a rate me button and a googleplay button that points to only your apps in google play. You can also have a button to your website to give the customer a more personal touch.

    6) Paid vs. Free- I would suggest you make 4 to 5 free apps before making a paid app. Most customers do not want to pay and only enjoy free apps. You can make a paid version but be warned if you make a paid version users might

    1) uninstall the free version

    2)buy the paid version

3)refund the paid version but keep the apk on thier device

    4) Now they have the paid version for free.

  • Hi guys I been reading on the forums and see developers looking for AD networks for thier games. I had HTML games I made (very simple games) and didnt have a way to put ADs into them when I met Notifymob. They have a free service where you can send the apk and they install the ADs you want and they send it back. Or if you know a little eclipse (which I don't) you can intergrate thier SDK yourself.

If your interested they have a quick sign up form here https:// notifymob.com/create-account?ref=pixelpower Also if you want to promote your android games I own an android forum here http:// androidfreegamesapps.forumotion.com/ . It has over 1,000 members . If you want to message me , I am the Admin. Good luck with your apps and if you have any questions just ask.
