  • Many thanks!

  • Read about it in the release notes for 115, but am still seeing the old one. Any trick to get it to display? Googled for info, but didn't find anything.

  • Hey all! I just finished and released Outpost Horizon Station!

  • Hi! I do make all the art myself—thanks!

They daily game thing was a personal challenge I gave myself. For a long time I've come up with all these game ideas, but I just never made them. And the longer I dreamt about them, the more the scope would increase, and the more increasingly impossible they would become to make.

So my solution was to come up with a random game idea I didn't really care about too much and determine the smallest possible version of that idea that I could make over the course of a couple hours. Then I could make it, release it, get some feedback, and move on to the next idea. That way I could actually learn what was fun, experiment a little, and build up some confidence and experience.

I did three of those, then decided to do something just a little larger. Been working on Outpost Horizon Station for about two weeks, and have a couple more weeks probably to wrap it up.

Which reminds me—I have a new gameplay trailer to show! Still posting regular updates to https://twitter.com/oldmanofthefire as well.

    Hey all 👋

Working on a crazy, frantic, space station shootout game called Outpost Horizon Station. I probably have a few weeks left to go finishing out new enemy types, powerups, and so forth. So much fun!

  • I've been challenging myself to spend an hour or two and make a game every day.

This game is my fourth! It's a point & click adventure in a mysterious labyrinth. I had never made one of those before, and totally broke my rule of spending only one or two hours (it took around 12 hours of work to complete).
