  • Try setting your player to the topmost layer.

By the way, is that Shigeru Miyamoto's body with your face in it in your avatar?

  • I think I understand how it works now. While it saves 'some' time you still have to rename every respective layer.

Also it seems this is only good for UI, Background and possibly effects layer.

    Still every little bit helps.

  • Try using Global Layers.

How exactly do these things work? I tried just now to set all my layers to Global but when I try creating a new Layout I still start with 1 Layer.

  • Same problem here.

One way to do it is re-setting the layers object by object. Click on the object to the right and to the left you can set their respective layers. Faster that way than going instance by instance.

  • Sounds like voice recognition where your 'voice' is blowing into the mic.

One way I can imagine doing it is using a sensitive sliver of metal and use its relative displacement to move an object.

Also you can connect a mouse to a phone so that's a good starting point. It would have to be a super sensitive tiny Tiny mouse on a near frictionless surface to get some movement though. I imagine you would put a sail on it just like ancient ships...

  • Thanks!

  • Read the whole thing and wow! That lit a fire up my ass and inspired me further to continue prototypes I put on the shelf.

If that didn't touch Scirra Team I don't know what will!

  • The music in my game always work fine. But now in Construct 239, The music just play the first time that the game load. The game have a RESET button, and all always works fine when the layout was reseted, but now, the music dont play when de layout restart.

Have some change that i lost, or may be a bug?

Below a print of my event Sheet

Yes it is a bug. Put your songs into the SOUND FOLDER and it should play after that.

Ok first of all I don't know if this is a bug but this is more of a nuisance.

I really wish I didn't have to create this thread but over the last few days It's been a pain trying and navigate this website.

    Is anyone else experiencing this?

  • The above is sound which is why I can make my joke now. Check if the player looks really knackered, if so then player has played enough days straight on the game.

This would cause a bug in Asia because people there can play for days straight without looking tired.

  • Actually, here is good starting point:

This is very similar to the zelda hookshot.

What you have to work on now is adjusting the hook's magnitude and drawing the enemy closer to the sprite instead of the opposite.

  • Try Construct 3

  • You mean like GLENN FROM CHRONO TRIGGER???

    It's a 2-parter.

First is setting up the angle and relative strength of the Tongue upon release. The release angle is just set to opposite of the PULL angle. Upon release, simply increase the radius of the tongue with respect to your origin point then when the tongue reaches its maximum length or when it hits an enemy, simply decrease the radius.

I can't build CAPX for you right now as I don't have time but

Look for Glenn's "Slurp Cut" Technique here:

to give you an idea. I'll make CAPX when I get time.

  • +1.

It's especially annoying when I'm creating new levels for my game when I'm copy pasting everything from a previous layout, I have to RE-CREATE LAYERS in the next layout. It would be nice if this were automated.

  • -Art is cute and very appealing.

-Plenty of stat management and moral choices in encounters, unfortunately there doesn't seem to be an effect making bad or evil choices. I managed to get my stats up high enough and just for kicks decided to attack soldiers patrolling next to the first town you encounter but when I enter the town I'm still somehow able to trade and rest. There should be a reputation system if you're giving players the freedom to do anything.

-You don't seem to stand much of a chance on the very beginning of the game. I got a game over on my first battle and only managed to make progress in my 2nd attempt when I luckily encountered an orc to join my party.

-The biggest drawback from this game that I'm sure will turn people away from it is battles are automated. In games like these, the push and pull dynamic of battles is what keeps players interested and making it entirely a game of chance isn't the correct approach in my opinion
