  • Hi there, Im getting a couple of errors in visual studio.

For in app purchases the test XML file is not loading so the quick fix would be to load it manually. Here is the error message.

Failed purchasing feature BuyGame after invoking self.currentApp.requestProductPurchaseAsync

Also I have tried to follow your advertising steps to a T and I do not see a test ad show up.

Im not sure what I am doing wrong.

  • When I test my game in the browser the game works perfectly. When I test the game in Visual studio under the simulate on your computer it lags. It's only the particles that lag.

From my experience making and testing games with visual studio, it can lag. Im wondering if anybody else has noticed this.

The worst case scenario is that I just tone down the particles.

  • This may be a silly question, but the preview doesn't work. It says there is a javascript error. Is this supposed to happen?

  • Here was my response.

Before construct 2 I was lost in a sea of arrays, methods and classes. I was in a never ending for loop of programming doom. Then, I saw a light break through the never ending functions. It was Construct 2. I was saved from the torment of coding painfully by hand. Never again would I have to think about the scope of my variables. It's been over a year since I was in the pits of native code development. Construct 2 saved me and for that I am thankful.

  • Im as excited as everybody else. One of the things you need to take into account when you are making games for TV screens is the fact that there are so many varieties of it. It can be a pain to develop for HD 50inch screens and tiny 30 year old screens. I wonder how they will solve this.

  • If IE can run the games properly by then, this could be interesting. <img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

I know what you mean ;)

This is an interesting development. It would be nice if we could play HTML 5 games on XBOX through Internet explorer with the kinect. I have a funny feeling they will try to block games but really Im not sure how it can be done.

  • One thing you can do is use FL studio. There are tones of tutorials on it and it's really easy to use. Personally, I love composing music in FL studio. FL studio is the easiest way to compose video game music yourself.

  • Perhaps this has been discussed before but if you use...

    • Wait 5 seconds

    It does not wait.

  • Actually we should all refer each other so we can all get access to the beta.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Awesome! Great job!

  • ^^ Of course flash isn't standard. But most of the Free to play sites run on flash and require flash. Personally, I wouldn't release a game without going through some kind of publisher. IGP + sponsorship will make you the most money. So it would be best to play by their rules.

On another note what you could do is make the game in C2 then go on elance and get somebody to make the exact game in flash if you are in a hurry.

  • Um... every SDK and editors are Ok, BUT what about publishing for indie developers?

Im curious too. Generally console publishing is expensive. An XBLA game will cost about 750k to make.

  • PlayMobi is on the roadmap. Im not sure PlayMobi is ready yet. It is still in beta on the website. I cannot wait for C2 and PlayMobi to be integrated.

  • Personally sponsorship is the best way to go. However there is one glaring problem. Most of the sponsors are set up for flash and not HTML 5. This is slowly changing but I feel it might be another few years before they come around.

The biggest reasons publishers don't want to do HTML 5 is multiple files and IP protection. I would love to have armor games as a sponsor but they list these reasons for not supporting HTML 5.

It would be awesome to have an SWF exporter in the mean time. I know Scirra is not interested in this and I know that making and SWF exporter would be really hard so Im not asking for it.
