  • lennaert - that's not possible. The editor cannot possibly know if the object aspect ratio will change at runtime.

At the moment the function is called to be applied at runtime, can it not check if the current objects ratio is different from the original? and depending on that apply or not ?

In the editor you might be able to apply the scale comparision, but if you tinkered with the individual width or height somewhere along the way, changing the ratio, it does not work at run time.

You could have a console error log indicating ratio difference, ommiting the comparison check, and for example always return 0 or false in this scenario.

  • Check the origin positions of your frames.

  • Give the players a boolean, activeplayer false.

    Start with one activated.

On click other character set other chars activeplayer to false and self active player to true.

Control events could be assisted with boolean check as to which player to move.

  • Yeah, it's the same reason there's no 'scale' expression. If an object is twice as wide and half as tall, what's its scale?

How about not showing/applying such option if current WxH aspect ratio is different from original aspect ratio ?

  • In some of my games, I like to create a keyboard event to toggle showing FPS. I think it is a good practice when developing games.

IE 11 has the FPS view and CPU usage build in :)

    CTRL + SHIFT + U

Perhaps not the best browser to test in, but if you have a web app/game that should be compatible with IE, IEs option has majorly advanced and this will give a good ndication.

This way your app will show a more precise FPS on actual running apps .... for IE at least haha. (ofc results will differ comparing to other browsers)

It also has the option to test repsonse time of user interface options through the web dev console. Also profiling options.

  • Thanks for sharing :)

  • Is it an idea to ask Scirra for support on implementation ?

This could make so many more construct 2 developers happpy, and likely lots of steps closer to purchasing the buisness license.

Many developers already have games available, this could rapidly spread 100s of existing games made with construct 2.

    Sky Raider in the Arcade

The game is loosely based on the atari game river raid.

It does not keep scores and has no leaderboard.

It has 10 levels and a simple end boss.

Players need to tank up fuel as they fly over fuel pods and will have to avoid enemies or shoot to kill them.

Recently I bought this steal of a deal and got a wireless receiver for my xbox 360 controllers for windows.

very kewl stuff, even the wired headset works out of the box for skype when connected, lol.

The gamepad implementation is straight forward simulating 8 directional behaviour when the left stick xs' are > 20 from center.

    have fun

I'm sorry, didn't mean to come off a smartass, but I noticed you commented here: http://www.scirra.com/forum/how-to-find-out-more-about-the-wii-u-exporter_topic84885.html and assumed you knew that nothing can be discussed about the program.

Dunno how far that goes, but already noticing the downsides of it hehe.

    Annoying really heh

    You know better than to ask that <img src="smileys/smiley5.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Actually ... I don't, and it isnt a strange question.

Seeing as there are more nintendo products, and you got your dev license way before this, perhaps you had gotten some license for whatever I don't know.

All I hear or read about this whole wii-u is vague and becoming more of an annoyance then an addition for me.

Also, I wonder what nintendo would feel about a guy trying to use a free version of construct 2 to get into commercial development for them .... rofl ...   (migth be some legal issues there)

Im betting they do care about it being a company or not.

Not to be a bitch, but the title of this thread kinda indicates that MafeGames is some sort game development company, at least thats the vibe I got from the title.

When I saw the inside I rofled though, and perhaps a bit envious :)

  • lennaert

Nintendo doesn't care if you are a company. I made it perfectly clear I am just one guy building games in my basement and I got approved. It's best to tell the truth cause the lie will eventually catch up to you.

On a side note, I am assuming he is using Google Translate and I don't think everything is coming across correctly, but I do believe it is in bad taste to ask for donations for what everyone else paid for themselves. Just my $0.02.

Hell yeah, I was kinda annoyed really hehe.

But euhm, cos of this I did some nosing around for that wii-u dev kit.

Did you buy that 5k dev kit to develop for the wii-u ?

  • LoL, does nintendo think you are a small company ?

    Damnit ... I should re-apply :
