  • I am trying to create a endless topdown world, so I need a way to conserve memory / CPU so frames don't plummet on small and old devices. any advice or examples would be appreciated thanks.

  • ALL ISSUES I HAD FOR MOVEMENT HAVE BEEN SOLVED THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR THE SUPPORT!

  • Hey hey hey! Look like I figured out the clamp method, the only issue now is the rotation isn't matched with the other objects. how would I solve this?

-- edit okay so I found that solution, my only problem now is that when moving the character follows the rotation too well.

up is not always up, it's relative to the sprites first spawned position. so say I am trying to move towards a tree, that tree rotates to my left but left goes up and up goes left :P Not sure if that makes any sense but I am confused haha

  • Honestly still at a loss.. I feel like this is simple and I am just messing up...

  • so in my game, I am rotating my fam_sprite group which consists of all my map objects such as enemies, players, etc...

How do I go about allowing player movement and or monster movement in my always-rotating world? while

    here is my rotation code

  • Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much for including both a written answer and a demo project.

  • So I'd like for my game to spawn objects only within a circle..

The only way I've found that I can do this is if I spawn all my objects within a square and have an inverted circle sprite that destroys all the overlapping objects on collision.. however it seems quite ineffective and doesn't happen immediately.

The above image is currently what I'm left with. I am hoping there is a better solution to this, I've searched the forums however a lot of the old examples are broken links/ similar solutions to what I have now.

  • Thanks for that, updated first post with the correct license.

  • Any progress on this so far.

  • This is great news, I was a bit hesitant to try windows 10 because I thought it may be a waste of time if it halted my workflow. Thanks for this, downloading win 10 now.

  • (bump)?

  • Alright let me get into explaining this, I would like to create a solid object that can sway with the waves of water, I have a few ideas on how this would work but before I dive into testing it I would like to know if it's possible first. OKAY! Here are my ideas on how it would work,

1, The water and platform would be controlled by physics and when the player is "in" the water it would cause a ripple which can various effects depending on how high the player jumped / fell into the water. The platform can also be walked on to create waves in the water making the platform sway. I have a gif That should explain what I am saying.

I am not the owner of this gif, but it did spark some inspiration c:

Thanks for reading, and I hope I get some positive feedback.

  • Looks Really nice! I wish I had a Android to play it on..

  • currently working on an update to the platformer template that will include various projectiles:

    planned projectiles at the moment:

    • boomerang
    • laser
    • fireball
    • bouncy
    • bullets
    • flamethrower
    • arrow
    • axe/knife
    • grenade

There will be an option for toggling whether to use mouse control or have preset angles.

Is this already for sell or still being worked on ? Look really good.
