    To be honest though, I had thought about adding some kind of farming aspect to it. To go with the crafting idea I had. Might draft some ideas out on paper.

    And I might just have to try out that lighting effect at some point as I was also debating tackling a day/night system of some sort.

    The todo list never gets any shorter 😅

    Glad you find it useful! There's still more to come, so the course will be updated over the next couple of months depending on how long it takes me to work out how to do certain bits!

  • Mikal getting a good little plug there for our Twitch channel, thanks! Though I'm not 100% sure the stream yesterday will quite cover what you're looking for in terms of JSON — purely because I'm still learning to use it myself.

    That being said, I am planning on writing a tutorial about JSON-based dialogue systems, as well as using arrays for displaying text. If I remember rightly, there should be a shorter video stored on Twitch covering the Array method, and the full stream from yesterday will be up there for the next 13 days (and heading to YouTube soon!)

    I could probably share the test file I've been using to build the JSON system if you like, and this video tutorial from Vimlark also explains the array system better than I probably do!

    I have also used Dialogue Designer, and while it's a really neat tool, the exported JSON file terrified me 😅

  • Hey guys!

    So, I've been trying to come up with ways of making my streams a little more useful for people, aside from just chucking the whole thing on YouTube. And one thing I've come up with is highlighting tiny tidbits of information to show you how to do specific things within Construct 3. Thus, TipClips was born!

    This is a collection of short videos stored on Twitch (they will head to YouTube too at some point) that demo how to do certain things in C3. Currently, we have a couple for the Animations Editor and one for the Tile Movement behavior. But I'm hoping to create loads more of these, both by going back through my past streams and by incorporating them into future ones.

    SO!

    If you have any ideas of TipClips you'd like to see, let me know and I'll try and get them done! Bear in mind that these videos are a couple of minutes at most, so they need to be simple things to demo, not like "How to build a platform game" (that's another story!)
