  "If you set it to 2 then at most one peer can join, since with them and the host it's 2 peers, and subsequent peers trying to join will receive an error saying the room is full."

  Your screenshot displays "0" instead of "1".

  Write "1" in the field and it should limit the number of peers to 1, in addition to the host.

  Also in preview, are you trying from different devices or from a single one ?

  Generally to answer this type of question, nothing beats doing your own measurements.

  Try out in a dedicated project and do profile the memory and CPU usage of both methods.

  And you can measure as well the impact when implementing the chosen method in your main project, to be sure.

  It is surprising. From the moment the host leaves the room, and the signalling server is notified of it, the room should be accessible again.

  Either there is a bug that wasn't revealed in several years of usage of the signalling server, either you possibly aren't handling host's disconnecting as efficiently as you think you are ?

  Consider providing your project to allow investigation on how you are doing things and what may be going on.

  Beta releases are beta and are possibly not meant for production as they can have issues like those you are encountering.

  How long has it been out? Absolutely nothing has been added that cannot be done with Construct 2 one way or the other, maybe addition of javascript now is something new.

  So Construct is great for making games, faster than any other engine, but if you want to use ads to cash in then...........

  Construct 3 has a Build Service that allows you to easily and quickly export your game to mobile and has active support on mobile advert and IAPs.

  So what you are asking is already added to Construct 3 and actively supported which is a major difference with C2.

  JavaScript is actually a huge addition, search feature that is a life saver for anyone actually making complex projects, the reworked Functions and even more already in and more to come.

  Saying "nothing is added" is either unfair or an uneducated assessment.
