  • xoros, Tarkion: It is already a known and posted issue in Forum issues thread, please read.

  • Yes it's true and can be applied to game making world.

  • Here is an interesting video on the matter of creativity over years.

Can be worth checking out the original even if it is about a guy doing radio announcing, the philosophy still applies to game making.

  • Post you system configuration (hardware/OS spec).

I never encountered such an issue as far as I'm concerned.

Try to uninstall C2 r163 (as well as all previous versions), re-download and install again.

  • Well, the main difference between a pro and a hobbyist is that the pro makes a living out of making games.

At 14 years old, you have still to reach maturity in life, but on the other hand, by starting young, you are building a lot of experience.

Nevertheless, one year of "toying" with C2 is not much. Keep making games as a hobbyist, work well at school and put dedication into your making game craft. This will get you on the correct tracks.

Also you say you have bad response/feedback. Then address this feedback to improve the games.

If people are just saying "this is bad" ask for precisions, what's bad according to them and why. How they think you could improve the game.

Make the modifications in the games, publish, and ask for more feedback.

And sometime, don't make the exact modifications people are talking about, but understand where the issue is between what you want the player to feel, and how the people actually do and work your games so that they trigger said feelings.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Atlantis: the lost tale - available on GOG.com

In the 90's, adventure games where you had to solve riddles/enigmas were the "norm" on PC.

Atlantis was one of the first multi-CD game of that vein, proposing a 360° "first person" view, gorgeous (for the time) 3D pre rendered graphics, a nice ambiance and cool story.

If you liked "Myst" and haven't played Atlantis, you're in for a treat.

  • Search function in the tutorials as well as in the how do I forum will find you a great deal of information.

First hint, it has to do with the webstorage plugin and arrays.

A score system in a tutorial. You can find even more tutorials and score system spread over the website.

  • The first page of the SDK manual page contains the first steps about JS.

Then, in regards to making plugins, you can check out the template that Scirra provides. It is a skeleton of the required files/structures that you then fill with your own content/JS accordingly to the plugin you want to make.

Checking out already existing plugins/behaviors (those packaged with Construct2) is also a great help.

Finally as far as tutorial goes : https://www.scirra.com/tutorials/352/plugins-roll-your-own-with-the-javascript-sdk
