  • Hi! Is it allowed to show ads in games on the Construct Arcade? I cannot find any policy on this anywhere on the site, so I wanted to check.

  • Using my own neat debug menu to convert C2 JSON level files for Tag to C3 JSON level files. I was able to convert most data from the JSON except angles, so I have to do those by hand. Luckily no levels have many angled platforms. The levels will be exactly the same as in C2 tag!

  • Still having this issue. Ashley Tom any chances that you will look into it?

  • Bumping this because the issue is still the same after a month! Tag is the only game I have on the arcade that I can't upload a new version of. I'm kind bummed out that I can't give updates to one of the top games on the arcade.

  • I am trying to open the 'Upload New Version' page of my game Tag on the Arcade. When I press the button on the sidebar, I get redirected to an error page with the standard message:

"Unexpected Error Whoopsie daisy! Something went wrong with your request. Don't worry, this isn't your fault and the error has been recorded on our systems. An engineer will look at the report soon."

I have had this issue for a few days now for the past week and did not manage to get through. Does anyone know what's up with this? If it's relevant, Tag was made in C2 and the version on the arcade hasn't been updated since october 2019. That's one of the main reasons I want to see if I can update it.

  • Well, first of all, there are no 'like' buttons here I played the first 10 levels and it works pretty well. The only thing I dislike are the almost pixel perfect jumps, like the gaps in level 8 and the tight hole in level 9, these are rather annoying than challenging. Maybe you can improve the graphics a bit, especially the font, but that's just cause I don't like the standard sprite font. Other than that I can only say it's a good game. It works fine and I found it fun and challenging.

A tip though: If you want people to play your game you must bring it to them. So uploading it to e.g. Scirra Arcade is a great start.

  • I'd really like to see it!

I tried some stuff like this before. I divided the whole screen into fields/zones which you can press, like in Smashy Road (never played it though). Here is link to the thing on my site:

  • A quick prototype I made to test out some assets I've been making for a multiplayer isometric hacknslash.

The effects are done using this method.

Lovely colors! The shadow effects really make it look 3D

  • This is brilliant stuff! Is there any chance you could provide a .capx? It'd be awesome to test out a game with it

  • Working on a concept I thought of somehow... don't know if it will Tetris like normal

  • It's a really cool concept! A tutorial would be handy though :)

I would love to see that. Thanks in advance

Alrighty! Here's the link for the .capx: http://joeriridder.nl/games/online/extra/onlinegamewip.capx

    Which part was the hardest?

Thanks! The hardest part was understanding how everything actually worked. After that, I only had to change the get-bit actions to fit the platform behavior, instead of the 8-direction. If you want, I can provide the .capx.

Hey i was just wondering how you went about to host ur servers to be online? does it cost you anything right now to keep ur servers online?

I'm not using my own servers right now, but the Scirra server for online hosted games. It works fine, although I'm thinking about using the server I host my website on. That obviously costs money.

  • Working on an online multiplayer platformer! Based on the online multiplayer template, but that one is top-down. This is the first playable... thing. If you want to try: http://joeriridder.nl/games/online/index.html, and if you don't, scroll on :) I have no idea what kind of game to make, so I 'm open for ideas.
