  • Colludium there is no way to avoid this issue. its everywhere. some people are more sensitive to it than others. but its clearly a lot better with IE, it has only the "normal"lags whith whith i can also live. ive tryed it on several high end pc`s, linux, android, laptops and so on... its aleways there. you just cant see it so good with small layouts haha

  • sorry all for offtopic... ludei, thanks. currently i am testing a lot with cocoonjs, so it would makes sence once the project is in a later stage, but there is still to much to do to decyde now once its in the beta phase i will have a look into it.

  • cooltaby thank you very much

well i wont mind if they charge a decent price, but i cant find it anywhere... also crosswalk has the jank issue, whith whith it is not possible to make a qualitativly good game...

so it seems like i just have to wait

will take a long time to fginish my main project anyways

Exactly, top down is what i am looking for. would be nicve if this would be dilvered as a psd / ai so one can change the collors afterwards. what also would makes sence eventually are some icons (for each station one) for some kind of radar. but thats just another thought.

some very good axamples would be those from SPAZ:

    http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=htt ... =0&ndsp=35

    http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=htt ... 35&ndsp=45

i like the art style even if i think its a little overkill... some less details would be nice... also considder to make it in modules so for example some "mountpoints for turrets which not look to much like mount points so they are optional <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile">

  • Hey Lunatrap,

things will be stolen copyed and so on, its just human nature. take something, make it better.

but i can understand your point totally. so here is what i would do:

    • Watermark images (for example like graphikriver does it)
    • Put the creator information in it (jpg propertys)
    • only use low resulotion pictures of your art
    • never publish source files, aleways keep the source files for proof
    • if you work with external persons let them sign an NDA
    • if you publish pictures aleways tell people what they can and cant do with them. for example if someone wants to write a blogpost about your project make a press kit special for this porpose and declare it in the licence. its also horrible if people dont shure and they are scared if they dont know if they get sued or not. so always make this clear

remember you never can be 100% shure but instead of being scared about this issue work hard on your game and the success will be yours. no real company can copy this stuff without permission and become successfull with it if they dont have the rights to use your material. so even if some small developper uses it you can sue em without problem.

Hope that helps a little and i am really looking forward to see some of your art.

  • hey,

ive had a similar question ( i want a max speed and able to axxelerate in antoher direction even if the max speed is reached so i will answer this questiion in some more detail:

for your question, what chris means was somethign like this:

    [attachment=1:3oejlkry][/attachment:3oejlkry]

note that i set the angle to -180degrees to deaccelerate in the opposite direction.

in addition to this i faced the problem with the max speed which is usefull for any space simulation. i just don makes sence to dont cap the maximum movement speed. so here is my solution to this which works pretty well

    I hope this helps

  • IntelRobert

    Here is what i did:

    1) start chrome on my samsung galaxy s2 Point it to http://bytecrunch.org/games/ocp1/

sounds and music work in menu, when i start the game only music works, however if i change the colume of the music in the options it takes effect in the game

    2) start chrome on my desktop point it to http://bytecrunch.org/games/ocp1/ everything works. same with any other browser

    3) start the app in the intel xdk emulator everything works

    4) exported app with crosswalk wrapper -> install it on my galaxy s2 everything works exept the volume controll for the music

it seems that the bug you have with crome for android i only have with crosswalk

    Chrome Version on my S2: 38.0.2125.102 2125102

    Android: 4.1.2 GT-I9100

    Blink: 537.36

    Javascript: V83.28.71.15

  • thanks you <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile"> this is valuable information for further planning.

Ashley , sorry for ping you at this, you probably have seen it aleready but jochen(the assigned developper) has asked you a question here:

    https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issu ... ?id=424563

[quote:2h1l6kch]can you share some information how you measure how many frames are dropped and jank?

i just leave this here as i am really interested in the fix of this issue and it will take some time after the fix before crosswalk will adopt the change...

    regards

  • IntelRobert thank you for adressing this.

BUT the slider for the music works in chrome over wlan preview. the music takes a long time to start and sounds are not played at all. so this could be related, but it could also be another problem. in the menu sounds are fine (played on tab of a button) in the game itself the music is fine (after a long loading time) and gets played at the right volume, but not the sounds...

if you like you can test everything youself here: http://bytecrunch.org/games/ocp1/

hopefully this issue gets sorted out soon... i cant release any game with those kind of bugs (this and the jankyness which is discussed in other threads)

my programming knowledge is very limeted, but let me know if i can help in any way... i can also buy you a coffee or something <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile">

    kind regards

    Joschi...

  • If i remember right Ashyley mentioned it somewhere, that android is currently very slow with decoding. so if you put it in the soundfolder it gets decoded on start rather than on the fly... i would also prefer that everything is preloaded, also because the volume controll then works for me, but that is just not possible at the moment. 20 minutes of music took my s2 3-5min to start the app haha

    regards

  • IntelRobert can you give me any hint on this? should i report this anywhere?

Does no one else has volume controll in his games or i am the only one with this problem?

    regards

  • Rable maybe you have imported music as sound? thats what i did to geat arround the issue, that you cant controll volume of music in crosswalk, and that was when i had so horrific loading times...

    regards

  • This is freaking amazing! Does it run on mobile?
