Ah ok, maybe I should have mentioned the process then as well. I can click on any layout and hit preview, which works, but if I click preview from my event sheet it will always run the layout I put at the bottom of the Layouts folder in the project window.

I just created a new layout to test and shifted it to the top of projects window and its still going to the one at the bottom.

  • Yeah I just noticed this as well, it is always running the bottom layout in the projects section.

  • Now might be a good time to get Firefox :)

Very impressive, a fps tour through an Everquest2-like town. Looks awesome.

  • Hey Laurent,

The problem was because the line you drew is actually running on the left hand side of the circle (objects face the right in the editor). I've rotated your circle (in the edit animations window) so that the line now faces the right so it lines up wherever the mouse is clicked. Is that what you meant?

  • Hey Pol,

Havent tried it myself but have you got "Pause on unfocus" set to no in the project properties section? (that's the left hand side of the screen where you set the window resolution an such.

If that doesn't work Im sure it will in the next couple of versions.

  • Haha, no worries. Could have just as easily happened to me!

  • Hey Almeid,

I just did a little test with families that you might be interested in. It seems that when you call the family object itself to be spawned it will spawn a random sprite within that family.

  • Hey mate I have just been checking it out, are you sure its not working as intended?

It was kind of hard to see because the colours are similar and the screen size is so small but I changed the 'LOS' to black and 'CANHEAR' to light blue and LOS is definitely on top.

Maybe I read the request wrong? :)

  • Just downloading the new version then I'll take a look Rhindon. 20 mins ;)

  • Hey Chef

Here is a quick and simple example of how to achieve what you want (I'm sure there are more elegant solutions).

    To explain,

I created a "Moved" variable and made it that ONLY when the variable is less than 2, move the ball to the touch angle. As the ball gets moved the variable also switches to 1.

As you see the next event registers when the variable is 1 and touch is inverted (I.E not touching) and the action sets "Moved" to 2 so that it wont be able to move again.

  • Hey Crush,

If you are using the turret behaviour. Have you tried using "predictive aim" aswell?

    scirra.com/manual/152/turret

There are other ways. I haven't used turret behaviour myself but if you are a beginner then this is probably the easiest way.

    In fact it looks like the behaviour might already do what you want without predictive;

From the manual: "On target acquired is triggered, and if Rotate is set to Yes the object will start rotating towards the target. Once the turret is pointing in the direction of the target, On shoot will trigger at the frequency determined by the Rate of fire property."

  • Hey Rhindon,

Sounds like a problem with the code, can you post a cap.x? Instead of using the Z-axis you could try using layers instead.

  • Are all the event sheets linked with include?

I remember having a similar issue a long time ago. I came to the conclusion that its much better to be extremely specific when naming groups (especially if you will be working on it for a long time).

You do get used to working without a proper debugger but it would be nice to have I agree.

  • Ahh ok yeah I was. That is weird. At least you have the extra links there in case.

    Keep up the good work!

  • Hey Monkey, I checked the website but none of the tracks wanted show themselves in the music section.

Was able to listen to a couple on you tube though (and will return in the future as you add more!). Keep up the good work, I think you have a lot of potential.
