  • We're waiting for iOS 5, which has a hardware accelerated canvas and should be much faster!

I have an iPod with iOS5 beta at work, I can post my results there on monday :D

  • Damn, I just wrote a big post explaining my tests on the iPhone, but I timedout and lost it <img src="smileys/smiley19.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> <img src="smileys/smiley19.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> <img src="smileys/smiley19.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

    Short version:

Performance isn't good on an iPhone 4.

I had an animated sprite rotating 1 degree every tick. With each tap, I added one of these.

By the 15th sprite, the FPS started dropping. With 30 sprites, it ran about 10 FPS.

For action games it's unnaceptable, but for simple, turn/text games it should be fine. <img src="smileys/smiley9.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Hi TechMedia!

Please post your thoughts and experiments using PhoneGap. There's been lots of talk about it, but no feedback!

I want to try it, but still haven't found time to do it :)

    Cheers!

  • Hi guys!

I'm not sure this should be posted here, but this article about HTML5 was very clarifying and interesting to me, so I thought I should share it with the commmunity.

  • Voted for families, but I know this will take a while... :)

Anyway, I still have to try Zack's function plugin! Still finishing my freelance jobs, but I guess I'll do it still today. :D

  • This is so great, I'm gonna try that out later.

Will it hit hard on the performance? Considering it will be a part of the HUD and will not move/rotate/scale...

  • hahahah perfect!

  • Voted for function because it deserves some love!

And as Fimbul mentioned, I think it should be a part of the System options rather than an object.

  • Damn right... It was driving me crazy!

    Thanks Arima!

  • A beat-em-up is certainly possible, though it's a bit problematic in C2's current state. It really depends on the complexity of your game.

  • Hi guys

Is there a way for me to keep the hotspot's position when I hit the crop in the image editor?

    I remember doing it a few months ago but I just couldn't reproduce it now <img src="smileys/smiley19.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

    Thanks in advance!

  • Here's the webview XCode project:

    dl.dropbox.com/u/7324985/IOSwebview.zip

It's very rudimentary, but at least you get to see your C2 project in the iPhone/iPod screen :)

If you manage to improve it, please post it back to us! :D

  • I have a iOS project a friend gave to me that I'm using to test some C2 projects. Performance is terrible so far, tho.

I can upload it if you guys are interested, but I can only do that tomorrow :P

  • Wow! This is very cool!

Congrats! I'm fixing my pc tonight so I may be able to test it!

Any chance this could be done on C2?

  • COOL!

    Testing, testing...
