  • OK, thanks for the clarification.

  • I forgot to say I had an alert with title "NOTITLE" and linking to nowhere. Maybe that was a PM alert, but clicking on it sent me to homepage:

    "NOTITLE

    1 new comment referencing you

Maybe this was my January, 2nd, PM alert?

It linked to something similar to:

    (link: scirra.com/handlers/fresh/anchor-to-url.ashx

  • I agree.

I think you should allow users choose to get email alerts about PMs. I got a PM on januray, 2nd, offering me a business opportunity, and I read it on January, 31st.

PM alerts inside scirra site should also be more visible. I visited the website once a week on January (and many times a day on the first week of January) and I didn't see my PM alert, while I was able to see Forum alerts.

  • OK. I just tested after reading your message and send a small donation to you. It worked.

Please notice I was scared about having put my paypal password on a form that didn't work. I always double-check the url when paying to paypal, but I changed my password right after the "non-working" payment.

  • Hi!

I made a "Screensaver-like" animation using C2, but i didn't know how to make a screensaver from it. Good to know you have the solution!

P.S. I can't manage to send a donation to you. Paypal interface in your site seems to be broken, since it does not recognize my password.

  • Just another stupid effect. I wonder why this simple effect is not included with Construct2. This effect allows user to interchange red, green and blue color planes (if you just want to change a color, use the built-in "colorchange" effect).

I made this effect for a helper app for colorblind people like me.

    Download effect here

    Parameters:

Source R (default 1) - Source plane to take red color from.

(1 for Red, 2 for Green, 3 for Blue).

Source G (default 2) - Source plane to take green color from.

(1 for Red, 2 for Green, 3 for Blue).

Source B (default 3) - Source plane to take blue color from.

(1 for Red, 2 for Green, 3 for Blue).

  • Hi!

i don't know if I have to solve this straight into XDK or i can solve it inside Construct.

Yeterday i did a quick-and-dirty app using only the camera (I can give a link for those interested, but it is of small interest except for colorblind people like me). The point is, after marking in XDK all the permissions i needed (the only one was: access to the camera) I found that Amazon identified permissions like "access to network" (no socket or web object is used) "access to vibration", "turn on device" or "access to contacts list".

Does anyone know how to get rid of these permissions? I would be scared if a webcam app like mine warned about "access to contact list"!

    Yours,

    Arcalaus.

  • I have to test it with latest version. Please wait until I take my semestral exams next week...

  • Hi!

I was just wondering how to play a video on bottom, to use my "chroma" effect (http://www.scirra.com/forum/chroma-effect_topic83592.html ) for a webcam on top of it.

So please, is there a way for Gaps to release his/her improvements?

  • Just wondering why Construct2 is not shipped with a Chroma effect. I've made a quick-and-dirt chroma effect by altering the replacecolor effect to work on the alpha channel.

The effect is called "chroma2" since I did a previous, failed version which replaced colors with background object color.

    <img src="http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/5ealf0oqaz0qlz5/chroma_effect_screenshot.png" border="0">

You could use this plugin to make quick-and-dirt solutions for chroma "Photocall" parties. This would require some kind of motion picture support, also.

  • Hi!

I just wrote my first tutorial and I wonder if I could get some kind of notification when I get a new comment for it. Sometimes, comments for tutorials are simply "well done, blah blah" but sometimes they are like "Please, I don't understand this or that, Hey, you forgot to warn about something" and so.

So, if you get a notification about "new comments for your tutorial" in your profile, you could visit it and try to improve it.

This would be specially useful for people like me speaking a poor version of English, since our tutorials use to need improvements.

  • Here is a small text tutorial. This is very theorethical for a 10-year-old kid, but maybe your parent could help you understand it.

Making a jigsaw puzzle - Part one: concept.

I'll try to make a video tutorial in Christmas.

  • Dear Nikandin,

I imagine you are talking about a tutorial on how to make a game like this (not about how to play the game).

Could you wait until christmas? I will be very busy at least until december, 1st, and I will be unable to make a video tutorial.

I could try to make a text tutorial, but, as I don't speak english fluently, I'm not sure you'll understand me.

  • Hi!

Well I know this is not the best place to ask for help with amazon webapp tester, but I hope some fellow Construct2 user could help me. I'll put the question in Amazon forums too, when I find where they are...

I want to release my best app (jigsawpuzzle, http://jgmy.github.io/jigsawpuzzle/openwebapp also on the website you see in my signature) to Amazon app Store.

The app should work fine on Amazon, since it works fine on most navigators. But, when I use the "Amazon Webapp Tester", the app can't reach an xml file located in its same server and folder (this is the file with the list of background images).

Since the webapp tester runs inside Android (such thing as an android browser emulator running inside android only sounds amazing to me), I have to use an android emulator to run it.

Should I add some permission somewhere?

Should I blame the emulator instead?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi!

I've mixed a clone of Pong with an Arkanoid-like wall breaker and got a 2-player tablet game.

    You can test it here:

    Ping pong breaker

And you can download the .capx here:

    Ping pong breaker capx

I need some help designing how to determine game end. I have the following options:

    1) Game ends when a player has 50% of max points. This would prevent me from adding "double score" special bricks.

    2) Game ends when a player has lost all of his/her bricks. Notice a player can get points breaking his/her own bricks if he/she gets the right special).

    3) Game ends when all bricks are removed from playfield. Notice this would give an advantage to the "losing" player if he/she has lost all his bricks and his/her rival can't get a "change ball color" special.

    4) Timed end

    5) When a player removes all bricks, any brick broken with his/her pad will be scored by him.

    What would you prefer?
