  • On cocoonJS website. Just open your project and click on android or iOs or whatever you are exporting to on the left side under configuration and place your custom icons/assets there.

  • Made some tiles and props so I can test the game and hopefully discover some useful game mechanics. Made the boxes "pushable" so far and some spears that kill you on collision

And one of many death animations:

  • No, my art and animations are made entirely in Flash. I think Flash works well enough for my projects. And when I work with pixel art and animtations I usually use photoshop.

  • Ok, I updated the character and gave him proper eyes. You were right. Thank you! You can see the updated version in the top post.

  • Thank you. That isn't his eyes it is his eye sockets. He doesn't have any eye whites. But I can see why you thought it was his eye. I'll change that now to make it clearer

Yeah, I'll post some in-game screenshots soon

  • I have decided to start a devlog to help keep me motivated and organized on my new project. So I will post my progress here during the development.

I don't have a name for the game yet but it will be a puzzle platformer. But don't let the cute graphics fool you. The game will be quite violent and gory I also want it to have a lot of humor.

The concept and the game mechanics will be created on the fly. And if you have any ideas you think fits the projekt, please let me know

So to start things off I've created the main character and all of the graphics I'll end up making will have this type of art style.

  • One way of doing this is to make an event that compares the "score" variable and if it is equal or greater than for example 100 set speed to XX or whatever you want to do to make it more difficult.

EDIT: I was too late but we almost recommended the same solution

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Haha, I thought I was the only one here making a Kim Jong game. Guess we were two

  • Yeah,, my ads are also not showing up in my apps

  • You did the steps from here? Can you show me what error messages do you have?

Hmm, I didn't get the same error as in the link you posted but I'll look at it anyway. Everything feels so complicated with apple. All the certificates, xcode and waiting for approval so I think I might skip app store and only make all my games for android instead

Thank you. I'll report back when I have tried the solution you posted

  • I had this problem before. But not anymore. I keep the sound in the sound folder and the music in the music folder and it works like a charm. The sound in the sound folder is downloaded the first time they are played while the music in the music folder is streamed and that is why you see the difference in the delay.

I start my game with a loading layout and after the loading is complete I go to the main menu layout.

Then I Usually start by putting the play audio event before any other event. Like on collission wih X play audio followed by the other events like damage or other code.

I also delete all other file formats of every sound, only keeping the .ogg files.

In the new version of construct I think preload sound is forced by default and no preloading is required. But correct me if I'm wrong.

If you are experiencing this while testing on network or in browser on your android device then I think this is the problem. I also see this delay when I test the game thorugh my network. But as soon as I compile and wrap it with CocoonJS the delay disappears.

So if you haven't compiled it and wrapped it yet. Try that and see what you get.

This woked for me when I made this simple android game:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... appz.dropz

  • Hi.

I'm trying to upload my game to the appstore but I've been stuck with this error in Xcode for ages and google can't help me. Does anyone know what this error means and how I can solve it. I am not experienced with mac so please be gentle. The error shows up when I try to simulate/test the game on my iPad through Xcode.

I exported the game as CocoonJS from Construct 2 and used CocoonJS website for the wrapping process as usual.

Why does apple have to make this process so complicated?

    Thank you in advance.

  • I tried it and it ran smoothly on my Note 3. Nice simple graphics and nice sound. But it needs to be harder. Beat the whole game in like 5min and only died a maximum of maybe 3-4 times

So I would make it a little more challenging and maybe give the player some kind of feedback after each level. So you can track your progression.

But overall a nice enjoyable game. Cute ending

Btw, did you use CocoonJS to export this game and have you successfully launched anything on apple's appstore?

  • Yes, including artwork. I just threw a few effects on a couple of shapes in photoshop and then began to work on the events. The game is so simple so I had a pretty good idea of what the game should look and feel like so everything went so much faster than usual

Oh, what a shame. That would make me so pissed. But it is so important to keep backups on everything. I have all my construct folders inside my dropbox folder so everything gets stored online every step of the process.

Hope you'll never loose your progress in a crash again :/
