  • Construct2 IRC channel, Ludum dare's or TIGSource. This forum... I'm sure you can get a bunch of people testing your stuff and giving you feedback. You add them to Skype, give them builds and ask them. I tend to test stuff, it really helps me learn how to make my own games and build a relationship with the people that are making games. It's a win-win situation, really.

  • Try Construct 3

  • I even fail to see the error in the video, to be honest. From the explanation you're giving, this is not a bug caused by C2, but by how you made stuff work.

I'm not home atm, but I'll check your capx tonight if it's not fixed by then.

  • Good initiative. I will make sure I contribute to it as much as I can.

  • Very cool! Nice to be part of this community.

  • Yep, that's the one. Thanks zatyka!

  • That's really good so far! Entertained me and child friendly. Not much needs to be improved but maybe a tutorial level to begin with to learn the mechanics of the game. If possible different landscapes as you get further into the game and maybe an map which shows where you are. All in all, keep up the great work man!

I thought it was pretty clear. What "mechanic" did you need explained?

  • Very, very impressive. Shows the true potential of C2!

  • There is a command called wait, heh!

  • Compare it's X coordinate. Wait and then make it move to the other way?

  • Make a sprite called zone. That will be your "camera zone". Overlay every room with it, separetely. So you clone it (CTRL + drag)

    Something like this

Then, use this event. The settings (400 and 256) depend on the size of your layout. Put half and half in each.

Make a layer intended for the zones, it'll make it easier to map and you'll be able to lock them.

I got this from a capx I found around the forums.

  • Let me give you a response from a very honest place : I would never play a game that would require me to share it. It'd see behind this cheap trick and refuse to take part in it. A game has to captivate me, impress me, or have enough aesthetic qualities for me to want to share it with my friends. In other words : if it's good, I will share it anyway.

My advice : make a good game. No need for cheap tricks.

  • Very nice sprites. What makes this project so special?

  • Very nice visuals. I wish this was a full-fleshed game!

  • Really cool style!
