    No news of Construct 3

    seems that will have to wait much time to know something of Construct 3

    i was to a fortune teller last night, and it told me, that something special is going to happen around Christmas 2016 or Easter 2017... but you know how this fortune telling goes... its never for sure!

    No official news though. Outside that development is in progress on C3.

  • Just a quick question for those who tried this and Q3D as well. Does making simple 3D games is easier with Babylon3D than with Q3D? I heard that the latter made it very complicated, even more so than using a 3D engine.

    Babylon is more confusing for me since it has a different way of working with the 3d models, as simplicity and speed of scene assemble, Q3D takes the crown, however, performance wise, Babylon3D wins.

    The only "complicated" aspect of Babylon3D from my point of view, is that you need to build your entire game(models,scene etc) basically in Maya or Blender, then export that scene and call each object in C2. The update 0.3 made me more confused, i was thinking will be more like Q3D, but no, its the same as 0.2 just you can add C2 sprites, to act as placeholders, and use the C2 behaviors. Hopefully by the time of V1.0, there will be tutorials covering everything also.

    Cause ATM i have no idea what im doing.

    when i was saying simplicity wise, i was comparing the Q3D and Babylon3D with the simplicity and the way we do things in C2, Babylon takes away that simplicity, since you have to do some extra work in a 3D external editor (Maya,etc). However if you plan on doing a 3D game, you will end up modeling, so if your already modeling, i guess you can also create the entire scenes, adding the characters, walls etc there, and then export everything and load in C2 by doing that it has a sort of Simplicity by itself also, since you wont need to load every 3d object like you do with Q3D, but load directly the scene, going back to comparing it with Q3D way, and C2 way, its not like that. By the time, il play more in Babylon and learn some Maya interface, im pretty sure il be moving to Babylon for 3D, atm im still using Q3D, however are parts that i dont like about it, from modeling exporting, to manipulating meshes (which we all know its a pain unless you know what you are doing). So id give also the Crown in end to Babylon3D, plus i think i said it since i first tried Babylon, the loading and resource usage CPU/RAM/GPU wise, its not even comparable with Q3D i mean B3D is blazing fast.

    Changes in V1.2 - reduced the dead-zone distance to 50 px, fixed the backwards drag, it only works in front now, or if your 1 degree towards right side.

    Power & Angle meter added, few color changing effects for each level, more furniture pieces.

    Added a few graphic elements to the loading layout and menu layout.

    New in game GUI

    Edited : v1.2.1 available, optimized the memory usage, drop'd down from initial 58 mb to 13 mb now, approx download 230kb from initial 1.3mb. mobile version updated also, reduced the screen size, from 1920x1080 to 854x480 for faster processing, before was running on 20fps, now can be seen on android 40-45 fps after first 2 seconds, android was tested on Galaxy A3 android 4.1+, while on desktop platform, shouldn't drop under 60 fps, unless its a very old one.

    Edited : v1.4 almost completed, for those who want to know when the coins are going to come in, here it is.... it has arrived

    Edited: V1.3 made it available, i switched the v.1.4 goals to v.1.3 since i worked that before the achievements, now remains to add the achievements, and after that to add the localstorage and other hud elements(i.e reset button,pause etc)

    Short Edit on V.1.3 : New slightly improved physics, reset game button added, back to menu button added, (there is a known bug where you buy a new bottle then go back to menu and the items locks back to initial status, thats why the reset button comes in place, until i fully implement the store.), Achievements options are added, however they are not working, they are there just for placeholders.

    If you played the game when it had the save feature and you are using Chrome, Clear Hosted App Data and Media Cache from Browser History - keep in mind doing so, it might cause all the games data you played on other websites to be lost, facebook games etc.

    is that the Planet system example? i got a clear_Color error from long way back to R237 i think on that example, but for me it was because of the 1st condition being unable to clone the material for the "Sun" object.

    did, you modified the plugin on that line? on my end the q3d examples work perfectly.

  • you could try combining the strawhat samurai fighting style with it, its basically 1vs1 combat but more intuitive hope you make it trough.

    as long as you make your own graphics and you dont really follow the exact graphics of the original, but make it so they look the same but they are not, you dont have to worry about the license, however, i seen lots of bleach games types using the original graphics, that can only mean one thing, that is the bleach creators, are giving away cheap licenses, or atleast affordable till you get big enough and you can pay it in full.

    well you need internet for downloading them in first place, ........bummer >..> i usually play casual games, tetris like, flappy bird types etc.

  • good approach, but if its already so weirdish, i wold'v taken out the back button when u over grab, and just close it as triggered when back button was pressed.

  • RTS can be done sure, here is a tutorial i found on forum RTS Tutorial, there is also a RTS example in C2 itself check it out when you press file>new>project list example. The good part with C2 is that you can virtually do almost any 2d game with it. However you might face development problems, while you clutter your event system and forget what things do if you plan in building something as large and complex as Dwarfs Fortress is.
