  • Hi tarek, sorry for not replying yesterday. I was swamped... Alright, so I went back and had a look at what I came up with. I ended up using the event-sheet and a 2D array.

    Edit 1:

Patrol 0 is moving left and patrol 1 is moving right.

    Edit 2:

I only use the scripting when I can't get something to work with the event-sheet. Which is not often.

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

  • Hi tarek2, I just saw the notification for your post in my email. I'm a little busy this morning with work, but I will post later today.

  • Hi Sam,

I apologize if I didn't understand your question properly, but maybe this will help.

    Set tile(0, 0) to tile tileName.UID = theUID

    Tilemap documentation

    Set tile

Set the tile at a position in the tilemap by its tile ID. The tile that is set can also optionally be flipped or rotated.

  • Wow, stellar! Thank you Ashley. And yes, I also contacted support.

  • dop2000 That's what I realized yesterday when researching what does files were for. I've only started working with Construct a month ago so I'm still a newbie. I work as a teacher in a college teaching programming and I was asked to help in the creation of a game development club. I didn't know about Construct before it was pitch by one of my colleagues. So far I'm having a blast, and I am really hyped thinking of all the ways this software can be used to initiate students to programming. Using diagrams and any other visual aid is an excellent way to get the switch to flip for a lot of the students. Plus, most if not all of them play or are into video games. Anyways, I'm sidetracking, thank you for sharing your knowledge and time Dop.

Ashley My apologies, I found the GitHub and the bug submission procedure after posting the thread. I will definitely go through the proper process next time. But hopefully there won't be a next time ; )

  • Yes, that's exactly what I did today. Especially since I have the UI on the right side of the viewport. Unfortunately, now I am unable to open my project... I get a Construct 3 failed to open project error message. I created a thread regarding this here. I hope I'll be able to recover my project. If not, I'll be pretty bummed out. Thank you for all your replies guys. Great community so far!

    Edit 1:

    I fixed the issue.

  • Was working earlier. Now I can't open my project... I get the following error.

How do I recover my project?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    dforms.ca/c3/project.7z

    Edit 1:

Ok, so I was able to track down the issue.

I deleted the corrupted JSON files (objecttypes.uistate and projectfiles.uistate) and was able to open my project. Now, I don't know if deleting does files will cause any subsequent problems. Are does JSON files created when saving the project? Everything seems to be running fine without them.

    Edit 2:

The JSON files are created/updated when saving the project. So I think I'm in the clear. Don't know why they got corrupted. At least next time I'll know what's up. Should have checked the console 3 hours ago... Crisis Averted.

  • Diffidently the best version as of now. The player is still jittering, but it it's greatly reduced. I'll study your setup today. Thank you for your help Dop. I'll report back after running some additional tests.

  • Yea, I know about the pixel rounding. The issue with that is the player sprite starts flickering when moving while at the edge of the camera. I noticed a few little additional positioning issues when the pixel rounding is on. I think it's best to leave it turned off. Unless there's a fix for the player flickering. Thank you for your suggestion.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I'll give that a try tomorrow. But, if that's the solution it's going to require rethinking the setup of my entire project. Thanks for your help guys.
