• I'm trying again. I created a post yesterday about some issues I had with my layouts. I thought I figured it out, so I deleted it (because let's face it, I feel kind of bad for doing this). I know it's a lot to ask to look at my code and help me out, but I'm getting desperat. When I start the layouts separately from Construct the two playable characters behave as expected, and I can make them walk as designed. However, if I start the first layout and finish that so that the second (and third) layout is started, either one of the characters won't move (layout "3") or won't go to the tip of the finger as he should (layout "2"). The layouts use separate event sheets (basically identical), and I can't see how my variables can affect this. I've tried for hours using the debugger, copying layouts, deleting objects etc, but I fail to see where the problem is.

I would really appreciate if anyone could help me out here. I'll buy you a beer if you can find the source of the problem.

Edit: I'm sorry, turns out it was a user error. If anyone ever run into something similar, and are using pathfinding, remember to regenerate the pathfinding obstacle map on start of your layouts

  • oceldot Looks great I'm a sucker for chunky pixels.

Did you use Licecap? If you did how do you like it?

    Nice to hear.

I did use LICEcap Thanks for the suggestion, it's quite handy.

  • I'm currently playing around with a kind of adventure/strategy game for touch devices, where you can either play solo controlling the two characters yourself or (hopefully) a multiplayer game where you and a friend control one character each. For now it's only possible to walk around and throw a rock, but I'm hoping to add a bit more than that soon

  • Lomaod Yes I've heard of Sifteo Cubes. The game would be great on some of those

Some more gifs of my #lowrezjam game.

Added money bags to the game

    Added chests & inventory.

    Added basic combat.

Looks interesting. Just out of curiousity, how exactly do you go about to create your gifs?

  • I've added a free demo for Android if someone want to check it out:

  • Can't wait to see more of this. Keep up the good work!

Thanks guys! I'm glad about your interest and that you like my project, but i will not finish Egon.

The reason is that it will cost me too much time. I need a long time for the design and especially for the study of construct 2. So its not possible for me to create this game incidentally.

But i am working on my drawing skills. I am searching for an artstyle which is easy to reproduce. Maybe i try to do some simple pixel art.

My new project will take much more time for planing. It have to be much simpler. I will try to find people with the same taste...Someone, who can help me with the programming part/Construct 2. The important thing is that there will be definitely something new again!

Thx for supporting and sorry for my bad english!

I'm sorry to hear about your decision to stop the development. Looked like you had something really nice going there.

At the same time I feel confident that we will see more great work from such a talented guy soon enough

  • I've tried it, good job.

    Thank you

  • Hello fellow game designers,

I just wanted to let you know I've made this little sidescrolling platformer called RUN!, available for Android and the Chrome Web Store.

You can play the Chrome Web Store version for free, or pay a buck or something for the Android version (you get vibration, so I would say it's worth it).

    Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... chorse.run

Chrome Web Store: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... hhlndhndka

Edit: Maybe a few screenshots are in order as well:

  • I'll be damned. That actually worked. Lord only knows why I have wasted time on signing and aligning, I was sure that was required.

    Anyway, thanks guys

  • Try Construct 3

No. Simply compile your project and upload it to Google Play.

Are you saying it's not necessary to sign and zipalign the compiled app using the tutorial I mentioned, I can only publish the APK as is?

  • First you have to tell us if you compile with Intel XDK ( Crosswalk ), CocoonJS, ...

. If you compile with CocoonJS have to sign and align, there are very good tutorials - remember that there are problems with jdk 7 and for some reason compiles but when uploading to Google Play does not work -

Thanks, I am compiling using XDK (Crosswalk). Not sure I understand what you mean with "will have to sign in with Google Play keys". Sign in to Intel XDK..? Meaning I need to log in to XDK with my Google developer account..?
