  • I don't think I said C2 doesn't officially support it, only Cordova doesn't currently officially support it, although there is a plugin to enable it. C2 should work on any platform with a standards-compliant web view, and WKWebView is actually better than UIWebView in that regard AFAIK.

I think iOS 8 was missing features that Cordova needed to enable WKWebView by default, and AFAIK iOS 9 adds those features, so it should be able to use the new default there.

Here you told me that it's not officially supported, i thought nothing changed since then. Cordova will officially support it with cordova-ios 4.0 as a pluggable webview.

  • Sisyphus is there a timeline for that?

Here is apache's bugtracker, when all bugs get resolved, they release it, lol.

  • Yeah that's cool, but Ashley said that wkwebview is still not officially supported by c2, he'll support it with cordova 4.0 and pluggable webviews.

  • Sisyphus - I remember!! Although asm.js promises some performance dividends, I think it's still very much in beta as these bugs indicate. I also suspect that any gains it offers now over the standard box2d engine might become unnecessary due to browser and hardware improvements. Time will tell!

Yeah, also these tiny performance improvements is nothing if the physics engine is half-working.

  • I reported something like this about a half-year ago, dunno why Ashley can't fix it.

I'm sorry, I dont want to hurt your feelings but I'm not impressed. Good luck in releasing that on Google/Apple store and make money out of it.

Construct 2 Business license is €329.99. That is not exactly candy money, if you know what I mean. For that I get an unfinished, unreliable product with very little or no support finishing a game and even less support of making money with my game.

I might sound harsh, but I'm truly disappointed with the whole picture so to speak, of Construct 2.

Can you tell us again in what exactly you dissapointed? Local storage is working everywhere, if you don't like it, use deprecated WebStorage instead (it's not removed).

The closest I can think of is experimental features like 30FPS mode, which never saw a stable release..

The new "Set minimum framerate" action? Is it so bad?

I can't confirm that local storage is not working on android, it's working and always worked on android, C2's default save/load functions are working absolutely like local storage. If that's not working for you, just file a bug, and Ashley will fix it. I can't understand in what exactly you dissapointed.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Better then CocoonJs Canvas+? Whats about size of compiled apk-file?

Depends on what you think is better, performance, or full c2 compatibility, Canvas+ still has better performance, Crosswalk is fully compatible with all c2 features (AJAX, forms, letterbox etc.) but performance, on some devices - no more than 40fps and size of compiled apk = size of your game + 20mb overhead, you can try shared mode in XDK for no overhead, but i don't know much about it's performance and other stuff.

  • Construct 2 system's save/load functions are working absolutely like local storage, both using indexeddb, so if Ashley trust it, and making default save/load functions with this, you can trust it too.

  • BasicTribe chill dude, cocoonjs physics deprecated, but there's a new faster asm.js physics engine, it has some troubles with joints, but if you're making a pinball game they probably won't affect you, so just use asm.js instead of cjs physics.

  • You're using physics behavior, and trying to manipulate it with another behavior, that's probably not a bug, and it's stated in manual.

[quote:32rv47wl]Therefore it is highly recommended to control Physics objects entirely via the Physics behavior (by setting forces, impulses, torques etc.).
