Can I get some help thinking this one through please?

It’s a simple sorting game, but with a twist - the balls generate every X seconds from the bottom, pushing the other balls up. If the Balls reach the top, you lose. That part I’ve got - everything is populating well.

What I need is when the blue ball is on collision with the green ball, the blue ball is destroyed - That part I got.

BUT when the green ball is on collision with the blue ball, I need the program to do nothing.

    1. How do I tell C3: Don’t destroy?

    2. The other question is, as the balls auto generate every X seconds, how do I get the blue balls not to destroy if a green ball generates below them?

Right now if a green or blue ball generates under a green or blue ball, the blue ball is automatically destroyed - I need that to stop.

As I go, the green balls will be destroyed if they touch the red balls …. and I’ll be honest, I’m not sure how I’m going to destroy the red balls. I’m thinking if 2 green balls are destroyed on the red ball then the red ball is destroyed on the second destroyed green ball. But first things first.

PS - All the sprites are giant/over sized/big - this is slapped together so I can learn how to do it.

  • WackyToaster,

What do you mean by changing the image points and 9 patch? I've never heard of 9 patch before.

I'm still playing around with it and I really want to know how to do it with image points as well as move to. (I need to learn everything)

I messed around with the image point some more, but the thing still goes up in there air.

I changed a bit of it and reuploaded it if you'd like to see what I've done since (messed up since)

    Thanks.

  • blackhornet,

THANK YOU! That is so awesome!

I have been trying to learn the Move To behavior also. I've taken a lot of Udemy courses, but they all cover about 5 basic behaviors.

I wish there was a Udemy course that incorporated every behavior on some level (or several levels). A complete step by step walk through. Not those already made explaining videos. Those are good, but not as good as the follow along and lets do it together so you see and feel how it works.

    Thanks again.

  • blackhornet,

    Ooops cross posted. Thank you.

  • 1. OH tile background the arm - that makes so much more sense.

You know, I'm not sure how to do that either, but I'll check it out. I know there is a growing tile background demo around here somewhere.

    2. The image point thing is driving me crazy. Is it the image point on the player? Or the image point on the arm sprite?

How do I tell C3 that I want to us image point 1 on the arm sprite and image point 2 on the player?

C3 seems to assume the image point for one of the sprite and allows you to choose the image point for the other sprite, but it doesn't indicate which sprite you get to choose. I'm assuming since I'm saying to pin it to the player sprite that I'm choosing for the player sprite, but I have no idea.

But regardless of which image point I'm choosing - the player should never come off the ground for any reason. I want to freaking nail the players feet to the floor.

Any idea, using the method I have now, what image points I need to pin to so the players feet stay on the ground?

  • blackhornet,

Thank you for your reply - actually that's what's getting me in to trouble (:

I'm trying to learn the whole grid movement / tile background thing - my player is now moving up and down - it's hilarious. The player is only supposed to move right and left.

I can't stop laughing. Where did I go wrong?

When a finger is on the player needs to move and the grapple needs to stay down (I got that worked out)

When the finger comes off the player, the arm needs to reach up automatically and move the grapple up until it hits an object, grabs the object and come back down - there will always something to grab. (I only got about half of that worked out.)

How do I get the arm to grow up?

First, I animated the player. 10 images of the player with the arm going up, but that was hard to grab and hold the different items.

Then I tried stacking the arm sprite one by one, but that gets a little crazy with the pinning and unpinning and the grabbing and holding on.

What's the best way to grow the arm? Any good demos for growing things?

Anyone know what it's called? I keep googling and searching, but all I'm getting is how not to stretch an object.

    Thanks.

There needs to be a constant Huge Warning Banner whenever someone is using the unstable version. There is Nothing that warns people that they are using the Unstable Version. When C3 put me into v206 there was no warning, I didn't realize I was using it and it took me weeks to figure out how to get my games back to the current version so I could make apps that would work again with Google Play without getting errors. Every time I opened my browser I was just in the wrong version. It doesn't default back just because the browser closes.

I'm not paying to be a guinea pig. I'm paying for the stable version. Getting into the unstable version should be difficult, you shouldn't be able to just find yourself in it not knowing that your using it.

I fixed it so it works in the current version of C3: drive.google.com/file/d/1kzjQc2qx8YhmWUiKABxYJGUejsX9PR66/view

  • rafaeltrigo,

Oh no I am never doing that again. The last time C3 forced me in the unstable version of it's software I couldn't make my games into Google Play apps. I had to make a client wait for apps that I should have been able to create right then, but couldn't because the fix to set them back to v204 didn't work.

I just got all the games back to v204. Anyone who uses the unstable version should be paid for being a guinea pig, not the other way around.

I'm staying right in the stable version so I don't relive that nightmare.

    Thank you.

Unfortunately the file is v208 and won't open.

  • C3 for mobile app.

I finally found a forum post that had a live link that showed how to make drag and drop follow a grid. YAY!

But C3 seems to think that the image point is in the middle of the sprite (see video). It's not, there are 2 image points.

Image point 0 is the top left. Image point 1 is top middle. The yellow dot is pinned to image point 1. Drag and drop set to horizontal.

How do I get C3 to recognize that it needs to move the sprite using the 0 image point?

The problem is I need the tile movement to work when using drag and drop. I think disabling it would disable the problem I'm trying to solve.

I'll try move to and tween, hopefully I'll get some love there.

    Thanks again.
