maybe Ashley didnt see this topic yet, i think these suggestions should be easy to implement and make workflow much better!

  • i got the same error with the scirra Phonegap plugin, solved it by using the Google play plugin made by Cranberrygame

  • Oh, thats sad to hear.

Without your work, i think, there where not many Construct2 Cordova games in the playstore, hope scirra rethinks these decissions. Plugin developers should get more support and at least be able to sell theyre work in the store.

Thank you for your great plugins and best wishes for the future!

  • i downgraded to Windows 7 after three weeks and returned the Windows Phone to Amazon.

Win10 performance is bad, its unstable and crashing, the already mentioned privacy settings are a bad joke, Edge is far from what they anounced it to be and if this wasnt enough the whole Windows 10 Universal App is a (not even really working) pain in the ass, so far its only Windows 10 Desktop, not universal, no chance to install the compiled app on an Windows Phone.

So far, i didnt see anything better on Windows 10. Its like 8 or 8.1, a complete disaster and i try not to think about that this is the Windows for the next ten years.

  • Posting this here as I think it could be of interest to you. I've done a dialogue template that works pretty well for RPG. I know it's not XML but the CSV option would allow you to use a program like Ron's Editor to rapidly edit your dialogues for translations and what not.

edit: It's also worth noting that you could coerce the template to work with your XML file, I could help you with that.

Wow, that dialogue system seems very nice! i just bought it

  • Was anybody able to install the exported app on an Windows 10 phone?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • i would like to add another sugestion here, a checkbox for "only export code" or "dont export assets"

my current workflow is like: export the game, compress exported assets with kraken.io, build apk with XDK, find a bug, save the compressed assets, fix bug, export again, copy the saved assets over to the export folder and this is the "easy" way for when i remembered to save the asset files, if i dont remeber, what happens often in hectic, its a bit more work ^^

I haven't tried what you are doing, but I know you can get around confusion (ambiguous calls) between objects of the same type by using a family. Create a ShipFamily and put your Ship object in it. then:

"if Ship has los to ShipFamily"->"shoot at ShipFamily" will help distinguish between who is shooting and who is the target.

ha, that works like a charm! Thank you!

  • Hi,

so i have these NPC-Ships that have a LOS behaviour and if they have LOS to the player they fire, now i wanted them to also shoot on each other but they wont. Is this by design or am i doing something wrong?

The event is like "if Ship has los to ship"->"ship shoot" , but no one is firing.

  • Thank you both!

  • oh sorry, i didnt want to say its your fault!

i just thaught theres maybe a "higher" reason for that gfx bugs we users dont know, like problems with the framework your using to program construct2 or something like this, so we could inform ourselves elsewhere which gfx cards are good to use.

What graphicscard would you buy with small budget and if you had to use it for the next two years? Dont worry, i wont come back and say screw you if it wasnt the wright choice but i think or hope you have a little bit more insight on this then me or the hardware vendor.

  • janlindso - I think that proves it's a graphics driver issue, I think you will need to contact Intel about it.

    Hi Ashley,

this graphicdriver issues seem to happen very often with Construct2 while its not happening with other softwares, could you maybe make a list of graphicscards that has problems with construct or tell us the reason for construct making so many failures with some older graphicscards so we could inform ourselves which hardware is good to use with construct?

I would like to buy a new notebook in the near future but i would hate it if when a bug is happening your answer will be "get new graphicscarddrivers" or "seems to be a problem with gfx" and there will be no new drivers.

You can read that "This type of issue is typically a graphics driver problem." way to often in my opinion. Im having Intel gfx in my current notebook, the driver didnt change since over two years but construct2 was introducing new bugs in this time that supposed to be graphic driver issues, same for a AMD graphics card in desktop pc.

There wont be new drivers for both gfx cards in the future i think, so i have to buy new hardware, but i would really like to buy something "stable" for the next years. Can you help with this decission Ashley?
