  • Ah, I see that now, cool thanks!

  • My son was messing with Construct2 and somehow, don't ask me how, when you add a Sprite and can normally pick a color to fill the default Sprite box, the colors are just transparent. No matter which color you select (yes, the color pallet shows up and I have the paint bucket selected to fill), it won't fill the sprite with the color, and the two overlapping squares of your primary and secondary color are just transparent.

I don't know if I explained that well enough to understand but anyone know what I mean and can tell me how to fix it?

EDIT: I figured it out and learned something new in the process. On the color palette where it normally shows the colors you select, if you right click those you can set it to transparent. So I undid that.

  • Amazing, that's exactly what I was talking about! So simple now that I see it, but I don't think I would have ever figured that out the way you did that. Thanks so much!

And I learned something about Z Orders. I mean I knew I could right click a sprite and move it to the top or bottom layer, but guess I didn't realize when you copy/paste a bunch of sprites that each new copy is on a Z order layer higher than the last.

Thanks for the tip and sample capx!

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Just a static screen, like a countdown timer.

  • I want to make an effect where say you light the end of a bomb fuse, and a spark graphic then follows the fuse line down to the bomb.

The fuse is not a straight line, it's kind of wavy like a string, so it's not like I could simply use the bullet effect, right?

And as the spark travels down the fuse, the fuse needs to disappear where the spark has been. How would I "erase" part of the line?

    Thanks!

  • I've been teaching my 9 year old son how to use Construct2, of course he loves games and I figured teaching him the logic of programming while having fun would be a great way to learn.

Anyway, his science project title was "Could I lift a grizzly bear on the dwarf planet Pluto?", and so with a little of my help he made a program in Construct2 to help demonstrate the effects of gravity on different planets. He was the only one in the school who had a project anything like this, he got to run it on the "Smartboard" (projector hooked to PC) for his class so that was cool, and also made it into an app.

If you have an Android device you can check it out:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... nceproject

Note: I realize it's not a "great" game/app, and needs polish to be better, but for what he did I thought it was pretty good. But I'm sure being his dad I'm biased and this was the first program he's done on his own. In his school they teach the "Scratch" program which is a very basic GUI programming tool so he was already kinda familiar with logic.

  • I'm making a game where the user can basically press a sprite called "YES" or a sprite called "NO".

Once they tap either "YES" or "NO", both are grayed out (via animation), and I want it so you can't tap on YES or NO again.

I put them both in a group and set the group to Deactivated when either is tapped, is this the best way?

  • OK well I hate to admit it but the problem was when I was compiling my project in the Intel XDK, I didn't re-upload the latest Cordova export from Construct2 so my changes where I had the tap gestures weren't in there.... It works good the way I have it after uploading everything properly.

  • I made this simple side scroller, on a PC browser it works fine, player had Platform behavior. I can press up arrow to jump, and right/left to move.

I added the touch behavior, and have "on tap gesture player, action player simulate jump" and also tried "is touching player, action player simulate jump".

But when I play on tablet/phone, when I tap or hold the player, nothing happens.

    Suggestions?

  • So I made a little app, I select Export, Cordova and the zip the files and upload them to Ludei. When I compile in Ludei I get the following error:

Something went wrong during the compilation of your project

    Plugin(s) found in your project

    • com.ludei.webview.plus

    The command 'build' failed.

    I've looked at this already:

    https://www.scirra.com/tutorials/71/how ... h-phonegap

Has anyone does this before or know a better way or how to fix that error?

    Thanks.

  • There is an option under the bullet behavior; select your object from Projects list. In the Properties, under Behaviors, under Bullet, under "Set Angle," you want "No" instead of "Yes"

    Thanks, that was it!

  • I have a sprite, it's just an animal who is facing to the left.

I know the bullet behavior moves to the right, so I set the bullet angle of motion to 180, and it moves the sprite to the left, but it's upside down. Like flipped over.

    I'm sure it's a simple fix, but I'm stuck...
