  • Hello friends, I was wondering how I'd go about making an object change its sound every time you touch it (cycling through 5 different sounds over and over.) I know I should probably use a variable to change the sound, just not sure how to implement it properly. Any help would be great, thanks!

  • Here is a sneek peak at the demo Im releasing next week on the Android Market, its called "Maestro". The best description I can give is a musical touch runner. Let me know how you like the art style. Cheers!

  • Maybe record the high score when it happens in a separate variable called "high score" and display that?

  • Haha yeah it was one of those "what the hell is wrong!" moments..love learning new things daily on this puppy. Paradox, love your work, keep up the good job!

  • Thanks but I figured it out. Forgot to change the names of the layers in the event sheet after I changed them in the layout screen..oops..

Just want to give a big thanks to the Construct Dev team, the latest update gave my game a huge performance boost. My game is running on my phone at a silky 60 fps steady, and that's with large sprites and large background objects that aren't even tiled! Thank ya, thank ya thank you!

  • Try Construct 3

  • Hi, something interesting has come up while adding background layer objects to my stage. For some reason even though my tree object is on a layer behind my bouncing coins, the coins display behind the tree. The tree's layer is in front of the background and behind the layer of the coin.

The tree is big in size, could this be the issue? Really weird one..

  • Okay thats fine but maybe this has nothing to do with cocoon because the sound worked before on an earlier demo. Whats the most compatible way to play music for most phones? By the way the new update has got my game at 60 fps on mobile which is awesome!! I think the clue to the problem is the fact it starts up briefly then shuts off..thanks though

  • Also the audio playing is a 10 second loop. The game plays the shorter enemy sounds just fine as well, its just the music that starts and cuts off

  • Hello everyone, this is my first post here on the forums. Ashley, thank you so so much for your software and everyone else here for their great insight and help.

I've got my game running on mobile at a smooth 42 or so frames a second. On my phone the music on my game runs with no hitches but when I try it on my brothers phone the music will start then quickly cut out. I'm streaming the music, though I have tried to play the audio as a sound as well with the same result. On an earlier build the music worked on my brothers phone, so now I'm kind of lost here on what to do.

I own a Huawei Ascend U9510E (quadcore)and my brother has a Huawei U9200 (dual core).dont know if that really matters as the game runs fine on both phones except the music cutting out.

Has anyone had the same issue?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
