If you double click on either Sprite you will open the Image editor. Notice that the human sprite has its orientation to the right, while your canon faces upwards. Construct 2 calculates angles from the starting from the right (0 degrees) and by going clockwise you have 6 o'clock= 90 degrees, 9 o'clock= 180 (or -180) degrees, 12 o'clock= 270 (or -90) degrees...

So, within the Image editor, just hit the arrow that turns the image 90 clockwise (or download the attached file)...

Note that you could have both actions that control the angles on the same every tick event.

Excellent! Thanks a lot eli0s. That did the trick.

  • Hi Guys,

Sorry this is my first day of construct. So apologies if i am asking the obvious. I am trying to test canon kind object that follows the mouse angle. While i am able to do it with one of the sample construct tutorial image, same thing i am not able to (fully) do with my inkscape image. I am able to rotate it by following the mouse but only half way through.. i have attached the capx. Please can you assist me kindly?

My inkscape image sucks i know, this is just to test functionality so dint bother to spend time on art yet

  • You can put invisible sprites on top of your image and give the sprites a solid behavior.

Beware though that big images are bad for performance.

Excellent one !! ..thanks cvp . As you mentioned i will try to make small images/tiles.

  • Hi All,

Apologies if i am asking something obvious but i am a newbie to Contruct, so the question goes like this:

I am trying to create a simple Tower Defense game and for that i am bit comfortable of creating entire level (terrain) in inkscape as a single image than bits of tiles.

If i just create one image as my level and import it into C2, will i be able to tell C2 somehow what path the enemies should follow instad of running into the hills or bushes?

I mean if i do in terms of tiles, i am aware that i will have a free hand to give behaviour (like solid) for each and every object..but in the single image way i am looking for, how to acheive this?

  • ...Hey!

I Just discovered after a year that you can officially introduce yourself! I like making games and doing graphic design, perhaps I can marry up the two subjects!?

lol, better late than never mate!!

  • Hello game devs <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> ,

This is satish, i am also one aspiring game dev like you all and nice to join this community.

Though I am a .net developer and know some coding, I always wanted to spend more time on gameplay rather than writing or reinventing chunks of code. My artistic skills too are way poor but hey i think this is right time for me to start doing something.

Besides ease of development, its the Ashley and co that drew me to this software. I can't belive how the developers of this tool reply back to all normal users like us on almost every way possible <img src="smileys/smiley32.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> .

I am currently working as an IT analyst in UK though i am from India. <img src="smileys/smiley9.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

I am sre i will be proud to join this great community at last <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />
