  • I've been getting a lot of comments and messages about these type of performance issues for my game. I thought they were related to Firefox, but it seems like they also apply to other browsers.

I hope this will be fixed with next updates.

Some permanence and more details being added/tweaked.

  • Hehe, you mean the first one with that kind of idea? Because there isn't much of a story-line.

  • Good job! Now make games :)

  • Bookmarking this one. There should be more formal information on this matter. Also, on Newgrounds. That would be awesome!

  • Hello everyone,

I was trying to optimize the performance of my game and I was wondering if you could give me some advice on when to check collision. Should I only check for collision (Player | On collision with Enemy) when enemy is on screen? Or it doesn't change anything. I was thinking that maybe it was checking for collision with all objects in the whole layout and that this practice could help performance.

Am I right or wrong? Do you have any advice about this?

    Thanks!

  • Maybe putting a black sprite over the "bar sprite" that you're trying to crop? You make the black sprite grow OVER the other one. It's a trick and it will keep your original intact, but it will hide part of it? I don't know if that's what your looking for, but that's what I used for my game and it worked just fine.

  • We could point you on any direction, but it depends on which direction you want to go. You could use different settings and behaviors depending on what you want. Maybe setting things as solids when you want them to be solid (hehe) would be a start!

Tell us more about what kind of collision you want and we'll try to help you out. Explain your project a bit more : RPG can mean a lot of things.

  • Very interesting game and a pretty original concept. I like it a lot. I feel like the height from which the player can fall is too forgiving, making the game way too easy. There is a hidden-spike platform that feels pretty cheap : it is not difficult to avoid it, it's just impossible. It's punishment, not challenge.

Anyway, I like the art, the feel, the concept. I think this project has a lot of potential. I will be following it. This can be a very good mobile game.

  • Hehe. Gotta make that clear! But how, huh.

Maybe like a presentation screen when the game starts and the character flies from one side of the screen to the other.

  • It always goes up! It's because it has two uses : killing enemies and ... it's kind of a jetpack?
