What a great idea!
I can't wait to try Follow!
Good point! Thanks for the clarification!
Very cool!
But isn't ALT the key held to copy things?
CTRL is usually a selection key.
Happy Christmas to you all! Congratulations on a fantastic year
Seconded! The terrain looks phenomenal, this would make a great tutorial!
This is a fantastic update!
Thanks for smoothing these out!
Congratulations on another amazing year! Thank you to everyone at Scirra and happy holidays!
This is a ton of fun! I'd definitely pay for the full game! Great level design and art!
I do think the camera snapping left and right is pretty jarring, hopefully that can be less severe.
Ah ok, thanks — i was using space-separated filter terms.
EDIT: Is it strange that the filter box uses a single string like this? It doesn't let you include multiple terms to filter by, so you really only get one filter.
For example: If I search for Armor, I can't filter "Steel" and "+10" unless "Steel +10" exists somewhere on the sheet.
One quick clarifying question: does the filter field only accept one word?
On the topic, could there be a more distinct "eye icon" for the "hidden" variable? They look pretty much identical, especially on larger monitors. (Some apps use filled/outlined icons, others use an "X")
Congratulations on all the work so far. It could be a fun game if you continue working on it!
I love the big backgrounds in particular. It will let you create a very cool world that players will want to explore.
I think it would benefit from having really tight controls. For example:
-Rolls shouldn't be interrupted if you stop pressing the arrow keys
-All movement should be done by arrow keys, all actions with letter keys. So the down arrow should duck, and the D key should interact.
-Remove the "deceleration" sliding that happens when attacking & moving at the same time. Either let the player keep moving while attacking, or stop the movement entirely when attacking.
-Collision boxes should be pixel perfect, so players know exactly what their movements will do (currently you don't fall off edges or collide with walls properly)
Mega Man X is a great reference for this level of precise control.
Good luck!
I love bringing Construct's approach to development beyond coding — hopefully you'll help as many people get into animation as you have with coding. It's a great idea, assuming C3 is
But I agree here, you'll have to be careful about feature-locking. The purpose of Construct vs Animate is distinct, but it'll be easy to have the perception that Animate-only features are being gated off behind a purchase.
It's a fine line separated by purpose; Photoshop doesn't make you buy Illustrator to use vectors. But Illustrator's purpose is vector editing, so it does uniquely feature mesh gradients.
That aside, good luck! I hope this adds many more animators to the planet!
