I have 2 problems: making a UI and displaying the player's points.

1. I used to use Construct Classic, where making a UI was simple: add a layer for your UI and find an option on the properties bar for that layer to make the layer stay on the screen as you move. But I couldn't find that here. I have part of my UI designed, and I already have a layer for it. Although when you move, you leave the UI behind and it doesn't stay on the screen. How can I fix that?

2. As part of my UI, I have a text that shows how many points you have. Note that you get more by collecting sweets and finishing levels. I want to have a global variable "attached" to my text so it doesn't keep saying "0 points" through the whole game... but I don't know how I can get the text to display the number of points you have. How can I figure that out?

Thank you SO much for spending all this time helping me! It's FINALLY working! Now all I need to do is add that to the sound effects slider bar that I have and then figure out some other things to put on the options menu - like the screen resolution setting - and then I'll FINALLY be done with my options menu! Thank you so much! The slider works now, but one more issue:

I am on the main menu, and my music is playing. Normal. I click on the Options button and go to the options menu, but the music self-pauses. Strange. When I move the slider, the music resumes and the volume changes along with the slider and it becomes normal again. Even more strange.

I tried doing System > On start of layout > Audio > Resume, but that didn't work. Note that I was adding Audio > Resume to a System > On Start of Layout that I already had set up.

I can update the file and give another link. I am storing the file on my desktop and every time I save I just replace the old file.

2. Add event -> Audio -> Is tag playing. After that right-click this event and select "Invert". And voila - you get "Audio tag is NOT playing"!

Sorry but that didn't work...
