  • My only issues with XDK right now are:

You can handle the back button using the Browser object's condition "On Back Button Pressed"

How come I didn't think of this!!!

Thanks a lot, I'll try. Don't know if it will close the game, though,

  • I'm thrilled to start using it

Just purchased. Couldn't help test the bone system!

  • I used Intel XDK for my recently published game, as the last Construct build supporting CocoonJS gave me nothing but black screens... so I ditched it after a lot of frustration. Simple black screen was all I got.

However, I would love to see it working again, if it becomes more reliable. First test I did a year ago were great.

  • Aftersún ¡El Juego del programa de Aragón TV!

    Play Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... goaftersun

It's a game for a local TV program.

Still in developing state (3 of 5 minigames, will finally be just 4), but fully functional.

And the published result in Play Store. Still in developing state (3 of 5 minigames, will finally be just 4), but fully functional:

  • Well, after a lot of trial and error, here comes the published result in Play Store. Still in developing state (3 of 5 minigames, will finally be just 4), but fully functional:

It has been exported with Intel XDK v876. I've quit trying to use CocoonJS because of the black screen issues. Intel XDK has proven to be more stable, but slower in other tests. I don't really know what could be failing in my CocoonJS export protocol, but the programming seems to be fine. Black screen, no music, no errors, no solution no matter what I do.

    Comments about Intel XDK:

    • Compatibility is a bit low for a minigame, though. It's just needs quite a device. Dual core, 1Gb Ram at least. In a powerful device, no problems whatsoever.
    • Slow loading.
    • No exit dialogue when pushing back button.
    • Some crashes in older android versions.
    • Twitter plugins work fine.
    • Facebook plugin seems a little buggy.
    • The publishing interface has improved a lot in the last versions, now accepts icons, splashscreen and such.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I see. That's just what a friend programmer says (I'm a designer) but hey, I'm willing to try and think outside the box

I though that, as the WebView in android has it's own cache and cookies apart from any other app and can be injected with Java objects trough the addJavascriptInterface method, doing this whole thing should be possible. I know there are some security risks, but if the browser gets disconnected I don't see the problem. The thing is that I don't know how to generate this "local runnable content pack" of caché and cookies. And in iOS, well... I suppose the approach has to be a diferent one. I´ll take one thing at a time, if necesary.

But yeah... after all, might be impossible tough XD

  • After some tries, I'm still not fully convinced with the Intel SDK/Crosswalk.

Long launching times, doubts about the performance and other stability issues. Buit it still has its winning points, though,

I'm going to do the full process with a game in both publishing methods (CocoonJS and Crosswalk) and post the results.

  • I see, I do not know about a way to do this (browsers are actually preventing local web pages from doing things), maybe combined with somekind of virtual server you could do something about that.

I'll look into the virtual server option, will update if I find something. Surely won't be possible in iOS, but there might be a way. Thanks!

  • Oh, thank you, but that NEEDS internet connection even though it might be only once. But in my case that is not an option. There might be no network available in the devices where the app is running.

What I need is the result of that operation, made locally. There has to be a way!

  • Hello!

I want to add some minigames into an already created android/ios app, so that they can be accesible from a minigame selection screen and played without any internet connection. My idea was to embed them into the generic browser views in both systems and play them locally and offline.

Problem is that I don't seem to be able to do so.

    • If I export the game to any of the android or iOS publishing modes, it always ends in a separated apk or ipa file, which is not what I want.
    • If I use html5 web export mode, when running the game from the integrated browser, it tells me "Exported games won't work until you upload them. (When running on the file./// protocol, browsers block many features from working for security reasons.). Happens in Android and iOS.

Anyone has any idea of how to do this?

    Thanks!

  • Hello, Construct 2 family and relatives.

I've been lurking in the shadows of this forum and website, and just decided to start becoming more social today due to some exporting intelsdk-related doubt that came to me. I mean, the NEW one, which has been a major update for everything and might make it, finally, a solid exporting option.

Is there going to be in the near future a new Construct update in sync with the new Intel SDK NEW changes? I really hope so, and encourage Scirra to do so! The Construct tutorial is still not updated, and the exported files still call to deprecated appmobi js's which aren't used anymore.

Anyone used the Intel XDK NEW to export any Construct 2 game with some success?

What do you think of it? The new android testing app ("App Preview" is its name) seems like a great improvement from the old App Lab. Play Store Link->https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.intel.html5tools.apppreview
