  • How "complicated" is the game you are dreaming about?

If understanding events is to hard, then making computer/mobile games will be quite hard for you I believe. Try to look into all the demos and tutorials.

(To hire a random dude on fiverr might work, but I do not believe the result will be exactly like you want it. To create a basic first idea of the game play might work, but then it is countless of hours to make it "perfect", and to have someone hired (by the hour) to fine tune everything might not be possible, for your wallet..)

I don't know if I can explain how complicated it is, but I'll try...I'm trying to make a top down shooter with some crafting elements. *laughs* xD

I already looked into the differents demos and tutorials but whenever a try to make something alone it just don't work :/ and it's frustrating because it looks easy but I just can't get it right.

  • CONTEXT:

I want to create a game in construct, but I just can't deal with the programing stuff. I like thinking about the game mechanics, create sprites and art stuff (obs:to this date I already did about 200mb of sprites for the so dreamed game) but I never managed to create the game itself. Construct 2 was the first engine that I managed to make a small game, but I can't do some complex things neededto fullfil my ambition (like doing an inventory).

    QUESTION:

So I am thinking about paying someone to do the program stuff for me, but I am stuck at the art stuff because I don't really know how the engine works so well...I need some tips about how I should make the sprites (especially when doing the map levels desingn). Also, I would like to have some tips and opinion about paying someone to program my game. Where can I find one? I saw some people that do this kind of stuff on fiverr, is it good? It's safe? It works? Should I learn programming myself?

  • Thanks!!!

  • Thanks again man... I dont understand what you did but it worked. (Learning time yeah!)

  • I tried to do this, but it did not work. The object "item1icon" just changes his position to where I click.

  • It worked, thanks! But let me see if I understood...It did not work because when I clicked on the sprite it changed so fast that in the same time I clicked in the "block1" animation and it go back to "block0" animation? 0-o

  • It didn't work. Nothing happens :-(

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I am trying to make this block sprite change to "block1" animation when I click with the left mouse button and then go back to animation "block0" when I click the left mouse button again. But the way I did, when I click nothing happen, how do I do this? Why is not working?

This is the way a did:

I litteraly spent a whole day trying to discover this, pls help.

  • I'm learning how to use construct 2 to make a point'n click game.

What I want to make is: a door, With the cursor over the door it gets highlighted, and when we right click on the door you can see three option,(open, knock and kick) they are highlighted when the cursor is over them as well, when you click in the "open" option with the left button click, the door gets open (WOW). The problem is, i'm stuck in the part where I click in "open" and the door simplt doesn't do nothing. What am I doing wrong? I will let a video explaining what I tried to do:

    [youtube video="
    Subscribe to Construct videos now

    "]

I am using the free version of construct 2 , not sure what version.

  • If you want it run endless, you need to add a variable like gameState = 0.

When you press key, change it to gameState = 1.

    Condition : gameState = 1

Action : Player : Simulate Control -> Moving Right

    Cheers

    I did not understand.

  • OH, thanks ;-;

  • Another question, I was supposed to send an image of my event sheet here in the forum but I couldn't. [4172]
