  • Is this what you're looking for?

  • Hey. Today is release day at the studio, so I'm a little too busy. I'll try to make a demo when I get home tonight, ok?

  • The police and policeanimation objects will all react to any policeguide they find. If you want them to be specific, you should add the police Id as a variable to the policeGuide and check if they match.

  • Just add them multiple times. Not sure what you meant...

  • Weird. If you click anywhere on the screen after printing, the platform behavior will start to work normally. Trying to find a work around so you don't have to click.

    EDIT:

Apparently, it's a problem with the button object. Apparently it takes the focus out of the game when clicked.

If you substitute it for a sprite with the same behavior, it will work normally.

  • Hey!

I added a sprite (policeGuide) which has a variable (direction) just position then at places you need the cop to turn and set the variable to the direction towards which he should turn. I positioned some of them at the intersections, so the cop is already making a circuit if you check it, but you may remove them and program your own circuit. Note the guides are transparent, though.

  • Scroll to a middle point between both players.

Check the distance between players. If it's less than the screen width set the scale to 1. If it's greater than screen width scale it propportionaly (I wouldn't use a fixed 0.5).

I tried to revert the file to r190. Since I've never done that, I'm not sure this will work, but... Give it a try.

  • Hmmm. Unfortunately, I don't have older versions installed here... Let me see if I can find a workaround so you can open the file...

Ashley It might be a nice tool if Construct allowed us to "save as..." the last stable version. I know that's probably a lot of work, but it would be awesome for people who don't go for beta versions...

  • If you want it to persist between sections, check the Webstorage object or write state to a DB.

Regarding arrays, yes, they are good for that and you could even save a whole array to a Webstorage object using JSON.

  • It's a nice book, indeed. I'd not put it on the same level of the ones mentioned here, but it's good reading.
