  • Hello Community,

    I'm making a top-down shooter, and so far if I click left-button is down, it should produce a short burst of 3 bullets then stop. I got it working this way:

    .. Player spawns bullet#1, wait.02sec, spawn bullet#2, wait.02sec, spawn bullet#3

    I'm not sure if there's a better way that this... perhaps with instance variables?

    However, I want to prevent excessive clicking on mouse, which spawns lots of bullets.

    so...

    • 1 click with produce 3 short bursts of bullets.
    • excessive clicking will be ignored.

    I tried a few things but was unable to achieve this.

    I've already had a go at typing this - long detailed version, but I accidentally closed my browser and lost it all), so here's the shorter version.

    What am I trying to do:

    1. PLAYER sprite with bullet behaviour;

    2. WALL sprite (top and bottom) of screen;

    3. mouse click, PLAYER moves down and stops at WALL (flips angle)

    4. mouse click, PLAYER moves up and stops at WALL (flips angle)

    I've had a go, but my sprite seems to just go RIGHT, even though I've set the default angle to 90 degrees but it's not working.

    Please help.

    How do I keep player still and rotate floor layer to create illusion that player (facing North) is actually moving? Hope this makes sense.

    So, if I pressed up arrow then left arrow, the player is fixed in center of screen but the background is moving and rotating - like 8Direction but not quite.

    I'm inspired by your post and although, I'm not a graphic designer (Sorry), I am looking for (voluntary) work experience as an indie-developer. I've played a little bit with Construct and would like to get involved in any future projects you might have to offer, so I can become a better developer.

  • Hi Guys,

    Noob here, (sorry). I'm trying to build a simple jump game. The player (a black square) jumps on any click. There are several platforms above and the idea is to jump UP from one to the other. If player is idle on one of the platforms... it flashes. On flash stop... player falls through.

    What's happening is, either all of the platforms are flashing on Player (Platform on Landed) at same time.

    I thought I was being clever by adding sub-event with UIDs of all the plaforms.... but no!

    Any help would be appreciated.

    I suddenly realised the frame 0, 1, 2

    So I quickly amended that ;)

  • Ok, I got it now.

    I moved Player > compare into it's own area and this seems to resolve it.

    I considered this but it didn't work (for me)...

    Mouse > click | [player] set anim to shoot

    --player > Is anim "shoot" playing

    ----Player > Anim frame = 3 | spawn "bullet" on layer0 (image point 1)

    Player > On anim "shoot" finish | set Anim to "default"

    I'm 'trying' to build simple arcade game. Keyboard moves the player U,D,L,R and mouse shoots from gun.

    On my player sprite, there's 'default', 'run' and 'shoot' animations.

    on 'shoot' animation, I set a new imagepoint1 on frame 3.

    like this:

    Mouse | Left button is down | Player set anim 'shoot' (play from beginning)

    |_

    [subevent] - Player | is anim 'shoot' playing | Player spawn 'bullet' on layer0 (image point '1')

    but the bullet is spawning from the default point!!!!

    How do I fix this please?
