  • I'm just writing up some lessons for introducing C2 to my web development class and I'm really impressed with the tutorials already on offer. If I was to wish for more it would be a 'suggested improvements' section at the bottom of the beginners tutorials, with a few hints about how each might be achieved (but not the full solution), perhaps with an accompanying forum for each tutorial so that students can get together and discuss solutions. Another boon to educators would be an assignment section where assessment problems are set out, along with necessary resources needed to complete the problem and maybe even a marking rubric setting out what needs to be accomplished and to what level.

  • Hi, I'm a part time teacher at the Hobart Polytechnic (in Oz <img src="smileys/smiley16.gif" border="0" align="middle">). I mostly teach web development (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL), but do a little intro to programming stuff too. I'd love to introduce Construct 2 to my courses. I know my students would take to it, and they'd learn a lot too... I've just got to figure out how to fit it into our curriculum. Fortunately for me, the subject descriptions that I'm given to teach to are delightfully vague. For example: Create dynamic web pages could use just about anything that displays a generated page, including a web based Construct 2 game

  • thanks Tom, you're a champ.

  • Hi folks, great community web site. Is there any way to list the tutorials that I've favorited?

I'd like to quickly revisit those gems of knowledge that I've flagged by clicking on the favorite star <img src="smileys/smiley10.gif" border="0" align="middle" />, but can't see any link on the tutorial or profile page that lets me list them.

  • Hi, Peter Shanks here (a.k.a. botheredbybees... don't ask, it's a long story, and not all that exciting)

I've been a pretty keen computer gamer for a long time (hint: started with a brand new Apple II) - including a stint as a video game store owner (where I ran a small museum of consoles and games), and taking a computer gaming subject at Charles Sturt University.

Mostly I work as a programmer but I also do a bit of teaching (web development and programming) and when I heard about Construct 2 I thought I'd look into it as something my students might enjoy (and as something that might be useful for creating some engaging content myself). So far I haven't been disappointed, other than the fact that I had to find a computer running windows to use it (I mostly use Linux in my day to day work. I think I'll load it into a virtual machine if it finds a place in my permanent toolset)
