  • All i know is as soon as I get my first payout from steam, I already owe Scirra a chunk of that to upgrade to a business license. It's not much, but im sure there are a few others in a similar position, and many more yet to come.

heh, yeah, if I'm correct there are about 5 C2 games on Steam now?

All in all, it's about time for a Steam plugin to come, and with the new system replacing greenlight (Probably coming this year as Valve stated)

there are maybe going to be even more C2 games coming to Steam (Hopefully including mine ).

    > One would *need* access to the API calls tied directly to a steam approved game / app to have a functioning plugin.

I don't know what I'm about to ask but here goes nothing, will it be too much if we ask for a public access to the API calls for testing and play-around the plugin purposes. Is such a thing (can) even exist?

It seem it would require a game to be greenlit to actually know whether the plugin is working, or is there any way that would tell me the plugin works?

To be able to access the Steam API I think you have to sign an NDA, which you do when purchasing a Greenlight pass and log in to the Steamworks site.

(Correct me if I'm wrong), but just to ensure that the method Scirra would enforce is long-lasting I think it would be better to only give those access to the plugin

that are registered Steamworks developers. All in all, public access to such a plugin (If made)/Steam SDK is something we probably won't see in the near future/ever.

  • Ruskul , I would even go as far as to say you have to be a registered Steamworks developer in order to gain right to use this 'Plugin' if it is made.

(So it would implement that you have signed NDA and your game (probably) has been greenlit).

  • And as stated, Node.js 0.11 probably wont come, as they have 0.12 as an stable branch instead.

  • To be exact i expected to be able to:

Set the Rendering Resolution in runtime.

With anti aliasing, yeah, i know, i just realised it, thats my fault.

And with Fog, i actually thought about Fog like, well, yeah, Fog.

^^ But that was never really a problem, since how i imagine it can be done with a 2D texture like i currently do.

So yes ok, to round it up, in all honesty, if i could set the rendering resolution at runtime i would be glad enough.

But that is only set for the 3D canvas and not the 2D. As far as i can tell.

Sorry that i had some false expectations (Talking about Fog and AA(I was a bit overreacting))

when i think about it afterwards, it's kind of clear that it wouldn't be like i thought it would be.

  • hm, i bought it, but it definitely wasn't what i expected.

I thought things like Fog, Antialiasing and Set Resolution also could be applied for a 2D project and that it wasnt only for the viewport of Q3D

Im really, really disappointed i must admit, that i actually used money just to find out i can't use it for what i expected to use it for.

I may have missed something, in that case im sorry, but then i hope somebody can explain to me how to use it.

  • dcadjust All the functions Greenworks would give:

    Steam Cloud

    Workshop

Information about game settings in Steam like Language etc.

    You can get the SteamID

    Achievements

    Number of current players

And as i may imagine there is even more to come.
