  • Hey Game Devs,

I'm looking to partner up with 2-3 people to start & finish a project within 72-Hours

    * We can arrange to start pre-planning the project next week (via skype or oovoo) , Organizing the Concept & Theme as well as lining up the artwork & music/sound effects.

    * Actual Development should start no later than next Friday 9/5

I'd like for the scope of the game to be minimal, retro, arcade (Quick Play & Lose - Beat Your Highscore - style game) , upon completing this project I'll begin making a isometric style game based off Zaxxon

so partners will be more than welcome to jump on board with that project as well .

**I can not pay partners for participating on this specific project but that is not to say we can not learn a thing or two by working with one another . We can publish the Game as a Paid-Upfront App and divide revenue **

    • I've made two apps by myself so far "Don't Crash Dummy" (iOS,Android,BlackberryZ10,WindowsPhone8) & "Randy Rogue" (Android,BlackberryZ10,WindowsPhone8)

  • You're right volkiller730 there are successful "Flappy Bird" clones like "Splashy Fish" . Theres people that have become successful off of Gamesalad templates .. http://techcrunch.com/2014/02/19/how-on ... -template/ ..

    Staying indie is the challenge

  • Create your prototype first, assuring that what you envisioned can be logically & mechanically done, then add artwork & design to it . Nothing is simpler than possible .

    Get the Job Done

  • "Being indie is easy" - said no one ever

Being accountable for a whole project and making sure its thoroughly complete can be overwhelming but doing so says a lot about your character. Not everyone is built to be indie .

  • Oh damn, yeah I meant "dt" expressions only. Looks like your using "on touch" - text objects -to trigger other layouts, try replacing those text objects (retry, restart, resume) with actual sprites or buttons (With collision enabled) . Reason being because I don't know if CJS recognizes text objects as "clickable" since they don't have any collision settings .

  • Try taking out all "dt" expressions from your app & it should work .

  • In regards to requiring online access as a way to counter those who shut off ads via airplane mode. I feel like there are a significant amount of people who believe games like that are a way devs, companies & the government spy on people. Not that they have solid evidence to support that belief, but requiring online access can trigger that sense of belief. #JustBeingHonest

  • I can't agree with you more newt a game with intrusive ads arent even playable, and seeing those intrusive ads would make me not want to spend money on the full version. I say that because theres not certainty that in general if someone plays a "Lite" version and then buys the full version that the dev/company isnt gonna try to sell something else intrusively or not within the full version .

To make my point, if a game is valued as "not boring" then there is , somewhere out there, a target audience for it. How do you deliver your product to your target audience in a way that allows you to make enough money to survive as an indie dev while still maintaining the core satifaction "Gameplay" to your audience . As a dev I think all you owe people is satisfying gameplay as well as respecting their privacy . Anything that doesnt compromise those key points is fair in my book .
