Wow, hmmm thanks guys. Maybe its because the one computer is super low end(acer revo) and the Air is a mac? I dont know.. haha. Ill ask him. Thanks for checking for me guys. Good to know that the first one runs well too. It was checking for a lot more collisions than the optimized one. Ill have to check it out some more. Not sure what it could be on my systems.
Thanks a ton!
My cousin has a decently fast computer and is getting only 20 fps. Even on the optimized one..
Yes, I have it up and running on all of the computers. Like, if I upload the games to google drive, they play fine in every browser I have ( minus webgl on the browser that dont support) But the same files on my other computers freeze and get awful lag. Now I know my iMac is pretty powerful, but they are just simple games. And all of the browsers are up to date, ive installed directx etc etc. Just as a test, tell me if it happens to you. Ill share the capx if I cant get any answers.. Ive had problems with people taking my games before. (not this platform or forum) But with the old one i used.. so Im always iffy sharing haha.
Here is one of them.. googledrive.com/host/0B55taHnDxy93eXFCTXFja0lQZEE/index.html
Which I simplified to googledrive.com/host/0B55taHnDxy93ZkFFZHFtNjd4QUU/index.html
Let me know what kind of performance you get on that if you would. Maybe its just my system?
Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.
Hi there,
First off I want to say that I love Construct. But I'm having an issue with performance. It seems like my games run amazing on the computer that I'm working on (iMac running windows 8). But when ever I try to play it on any other computer, I get awful performance. On my Macbook air, the games seem to freeze every 5 seconds.. And the Node web kit app crashes immediately after launching it. Both games Ive tested are fairly simple. I cant figure it out. When I play them on my weakest computer (Acer Revo) I get about 5-10 frames per second. Any ideas what could be causing this? I've looked through the optimization threads and have tried that as well.
Sounds like exactly the problem everyone else has been having with Dropbox. It's a pretty unreliable host right now, it seems.
Hmm, that's how I was planning to host it. Do you know of any other cheap/free ways to host them? I use Tumblr as my website and have it all set up the way I want it. But I'm fairly certain you cant host files on there.
In Chrome im getting this error.
Viewport target-densitydpi is not supported. index.html:9
Failed to load resource file://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7.1/jquery.min.js
Uncaught Error: SecurityError: DOM Exception 18 c2runtime.js:48
Ok, this is weird.. it seems to work with IE and firefox.. but not chrome. Just clicking on the Index file will launch the game (minus some effects)But when I launch chrome.. nothing happens, black screen.
Ok, Ill try all of these things! thanks. On some of the tutorial videos they say to play the index file to se eif its working.. and that doesnt do anything for me either. Thanks for the help guys!
I should clarify, I have also uploaded it to drop box etc.. I just cant get it to run.
Hi, Ive exported a one layout demo of my current project.. when ever I click on the Index file I just get a black screen on my browser.. Any Ideas?
Hey there,
So Im in the middle of prototyping a few Ideas I have to see what makes the most fun game. One of the ideas involved objects on multiple layers being "solids" and another object that Interacts with them on its own layer. All of the layers except for the "player" layer would have some parallax added to it. So I whipped this is up and it works fine.. about 90% of the time. Every now and then It gets random "Ghost" collisions with objects that are not there.. Im assuming this has something to do with the parallaxed backgrounds.. Is this a known bug? Is it something I did wrong? Thanks for any help!
Adam
Its coming together pretty well. BTW, the problem was the hit-box... it was making it unbalanced. As soon as I set it to a square it started working. Im still going to have to adjust it.. but having the hit-box being uneven throws the physics off I guess haha.
