  • Hey everyone!

I'm curious as to how people make 2D game Sprite Sheet Animations.

I make mine like this (After 4 days of mistakes :'( )

Step 1) Create all the characters animations

Step 2) Export all the animations at the LARGEST sized Box frame (ETC: If I have 12 animations and the largest frame in any of those animations for that ONE charecter is 120 X 300, even if I have idle at 100 X 90 I will export the IDLE frame at 120 X 300 so that when i cut the sprite sheets in the C2 I can set the image point to the middle automatically for all of them, and my charecter doesn't "snip/Glitch/Jump" between frames or different animations)

How do you guys do it?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Yea haha,

I know about families and the functions, but I need this to be optimized as hell and functions setting default values of animation speed are something I am trying to avoid haha

Damn, Guess I'll wait for C3 then

  • Hey Everyone!

As a huge C2 fan, I wanted to see how people are optimizing their workflow with C2.

    In specific regards to,

    • Changing the Speed for every new animation
    • Importing 40 sprite sheets
    • Setting Custom Default Values for C2 in general (Curious if anyone has played with Source Code of C2 here )

Let me know what you are doing to make life easier and share it with the rest of us!

  • How do I Set The Default Animation Speed For All Animations In C2

Also, Where is C2's Source Files. Let's Say whenever i open construct 2 instead of Speed being 5 (Frame Speed) it's 60?

Thanks for the help, Also if there are any workarounds i'd like to know!

Edit: Source: I worked for 1 hour and 15 minutes searching through program files of C2 but could'nt figure out the default values. Feel free to go deep into code as I am an experienced dev (I just love making prototypes in C2 so easy)

  • +1 Scirra has this been implemented? I could'nt find it anywhere

  • How come when I create a new animation repeat [1] is always set..... Why does it always do that... What kind of dumb animation will only need to be repeated once???

By default it should be repeat zero!

This is one of the odd things I find with construct 2 xD

  • Purchasing as a business and I want to learn how to do accounting becuase I was very good in school but we didn't have taxation courses, so I'm learning but I can't understand something with no answers

I just wish if you boguht the business license you would have phone support

  • But they are not charging VAT taxes either becuase it states nothing....

  • But what does that mean. I do not understand the point that there is no tax in a transaction? Considering I'm from Canada I am expecting a 13 percent tax on this product 0.0 why is it so confusing....

  • I have bought a business license as well as an arts license and I paid with U.S and CAD respectively.

How do I do the accounting for these transactions becuase I do not see a tax on the purchase??

    The VAT total says 0?

Is this correct if I am trying to journalize the transactions?

Debit Software product (price of business license)

Credit cash (price of business license)

?? There is no tax account for this transaction or is it hidden??

I have read scirra long document about taxes but I didn't understand it. Does that mean the taxes are hidden?

  • > Also can you add a quick function (Wait "Untill Current Animation Finishes") <- As an action not an event...

    >

Wouldn't "system wait for signal" action and on animation finished "system signal" work for that?

Yea i found that out too but it could be very complex when creating a complex animation based sequence. It would be nice to have it as an action although i dont have the time to make a plugin for it. anyway can u test the mac export bug apparently a lot of people have it.

  • Scirra Please fix this issue. Also can you add a quick function (Wait "Untill Current Animation Finishes") <- As an action not an event...
