  • Thanks, but that doesn´t really seem to help.

If you run layout 2 the ghosts all still just move to the right, and they ignore all collisions. If you run layout 1 they behave as they should.

I can´t understand why this is?

I can´t see what in the code or the variables that make that error happen.

Well, I guess I´ll move on to other examples and tutorials instead.

  • Hi!

I have a question about a nice example game in the arcade: "OmNomNomagon returns" by Stemkoski.

    It is found here: http://static1.scirra.net/arcade/games/1217/omnomnomagon-returns.capx

(He has also written a nice tutorial about it)

My question arises if I duplicate the main layout (rightclick on Main Layout->duplicate layout), which also duplicates the code.

I make no changes whatsoever to the layouts or event sheet.

If I run the first (original) layout the game works just fine, but if I run the second layout instead, the ghosts just move to the right, ignoring all collisions.

I´ve looked through the code but I can´t figure out why that happens.

Has someone else here figured that out perhaps?

    Hi!

I was wondering who, if anybody, will take responsibility if products, say add-ons for example, sold in the store don´t work as advertised?

My guess is that if the official store were to contain (too many) buggy/faulty assets, that would reflect poorly not only on the author of said asset, but also on Scirra and Construct 2.

Will there perhaps be some kind of quality control before things are allowed to be uploaded?

  • I´m trying to do the the same thing in my project, and right now I´m using three different collision boxes.

Box one is the one I pin (using PIN-behavior) the character sprite to. This box handles the player movement.

Box two, somewhat smaller than box one, is pinned (using PIN-behavior) to box one. I use this box to check if the player gets hit. (I made it a little smaller so the player doesn´t feel he gets hit unfairly)

Box three is a rectangular box that I put on an image point I have on the sword´s edge. I don´t use PIN-behavior here (since you can´t PIN things to specific image points), but rather use: Every tick->set position to another object.

I use box three to check if the sword hits the enemies.

So far it seems to work ok, but I´ve just recently started this project, so we´ll see.

I´m sure there are a lot of (probably better) ways to do this though.

  • Hi!

The Manual mentions this in the section regarding Platform Behaviour:

    "Platform actions

    Fall through

If the player is currently standing on a jump-thru platform, this action will make them fall through it. This is useful for adding an additional control, e.g. down arrow, to jump down from jump-thru platforms"

  • Hi!

A good start is probably to browse through the different topics under:

    Forum Home > General > Tools/resources.

There you can get tips about painting- and animation software (both free and commercial), as well as free resources.

  • I found this thread (http://www.scirra.com/forum/solvedr106-will-not-start-on-win764bit_topic58580.html) that indicates that this problem pops up from time to time. It seems to somehow resolve itself when later versions come out.

When I get home I?ll try the beta 145,144 and so on and see if they work by any chance.

Stable version 139 works fine, as stated.

Hopefully next stable version after 146 will work for me as well.

  • Hi everyone!

I wanted to try the newest version 146, but after installing it I can not start Construct 2.

I get an error message that roughly translates (from Swedish)

"Cant find procedural address * in DLL-file Kernel32.dll."

The "*" is rather a symbol that looks a bit like a diamond shape.

    I have Windows 7, 64-bit. Chrome version 30.0.1599.66 m.

I also downloaded the latest stable drivers for my graphics card I could find (Geforce GTX570, driver: 327.23)

I have the licensed version of Construct 2.

If I reinstall the version I had before (version 139) everything works fine again.

The weirdest thing is, that just after installing version 146, before you click "finish", you get the option to tick the box: "Launch Construct 2". If I tick that box, C2 actually launches, but then I cant open any example caps or projects (I get the same error message as before). If I close the program I cant restart it again. Ive tried running it "normally" and as Administrator.

When searching the forum I found an old thread which included the words "Kernel32", and one recommendation there was to run SFC/Scannow in the command prompt to see what it said. I did that, but it just said everything was normal.

Any ideas what I could do?

Any more information I can give? Im not a particularly experienced computer user, so to be honest I actually dont even know what Kernel32.dll is.
