  • ok that was a BIG help I found the event, but maybe you can explain why mine looks different.. I don't have "screens" like you.. yet I do have (lower right corner) the names of the two events.

  • KENYONB thanks for the explanation. i see where you're point too it.

    however what i see are:

    • new vs returning
    • frequency and recency
    • engagement

    no others.. in my game I have it set to track:

    • Track Event "Event Open Game 1.0.0" "First time Game Opens"
    • Track Screen "Open Game 1.0.0"
    • Track Screen "Splash"

    If I read you correctly, i should see these event names show up below - engagement or somewhere under Behavior.

    I have to assume that this is working because i show lots of activity. the events are making it to google analytics..

  • SparklingAir well i think the thing that people forget is that we make these complex games that do lots and lots of stuff.. and we do it using a company's product to write our code.. then we take this huge mess of code packed into a single runtime.js file and try to run it through another service that is taking ANY code thrown at it and expected to produce a high performing product..

    so the more complex it gets.. the more likely this just isn't the case.. often we test on pc's with many times the memory and cpu/gpu power and everything runs great.. then we are shocked when all of this game we make won't run at 30 fps on a tiny device.. in many cases it can but the more demanding a game is either in complexity or number of objects moving around the more likely something will not be as efficient as we thought it was when testing on PC.

  • never experienced that before.. I'd bet money if you made a simple project and changed layouts you wouldn't have a problem.. it's tough to change tech in mid-project because you never QA'd things with cocoon as it evolved. I don't know what's going on in your game. I'd be surprised this is a problem with a simple game, but if you're doing something more complex.. maybe not. never had a problem with compressed images either.. not even sure where you can change that..

  • wrong place to post this question KENYONB try Cocoon IO. I've had the plugin work nicely with that.

  • bump - plus update.

    does anyone have a nice sample app i could reference that would address this? i'm basically scrapping my project to start over and i need to build it with the right approach. i'm checking the tutorials but no sample capx.

    the issue i'm dealing with is still the same issue.. i know i could center things and leave empty space below and above but that looks weird.. portrait games usually have HUD type stuff hug the bottom and top of the screen.

  • do you have a problem with the canvas+ or using regular webview? maybe not as the final product but to troubleshoot the issue. i've not had a problem with an uploaded IPA like that.. only thing I've experienced is failing to increment the version number.

  • i haven't tried. i don't change music in any of my current games. have you tried making a test game that only changes music and see if it causes any problems?

  • i'm using the cranberry plugin. i'm using it with cocoon io. i can make a sound fire off when an event is confirmed.. so i know the plugin is talking to GA.. but i can't figure out how to find that "ding" in all the many tabs and pages.

  • nope GA seems to be about it and while it does seem to work (i get confirmed events) I can't make heads or tales of the data.. where to go to read those events.. i believe i'm sending "game open" event names and such but can't find where that named event counter is.
