  • That's a lot of little question with big answers.

    The manual and search the tutorials would be best place to go and deal with each issue on a one at a time basis, then post again with a more specific problem,if you get stuck.

  • The golden age of gaming, has definitely passed...There are virtually no "new" ideas left when it comes to game mechanics.

    Almost all games are a rehash of something that has been done before, today's tech can put a fresh coat of gloss on it but core gameplay has usually been seen before...mostly done by adding 3D and fancy graphics and removing gameplay...

    Construct 2 is a 2D engine, I will bet many use it for the sole purpose of re creating a classic game.

    The Day the joystick is obsolete, is the day I give up gaming...

    Having to dance in front of your device, or do harry potter hand movements,to control the game does not cut it...anything past the joy pad is a gimmick manufactured for the sole purpose of feeding the masses with something "new"

    Touch input suits a minority of game types,granted...

    There is a very good reason why a cars steering wheel has not changed in design for over 100 years...

    I have seen all this "future" tech will change this and that before, The master system had 3D glasses in 1985...remember Virtual Reality anyone?..Nintendo's Virtual Boy and laughable "Power Glove"

    The Future may well be that you need an EA account and a credit card to download Your player before you press start, a chip in your wrist to detect your movement, but Golden age....Nah.

  • Not 100% sure where the dilema is, you can add the mirror event to any condition to suit your need, but for a keymap it would just involve changing the input key..

    you could also use "OR", if you want both? keys to work

    left arrow is pressed

    OR                        ....Mirror sprite

    A is pressed

    setting it to the angle of your player is another option

    player angle = 180...mirror sprite

  • I remember having problems playing this in the scirra arcade and it hanging on the loading screen, I will go and have a play, looks like my kinda game.

  • This should be in the "how do I" section

    but you need to set the position of your text object to your character using "set position to object"

    Character is on layer...text set position to character.

    It would also be a good idea to go over the tutorials, lots of this basic stuff, and much more is covered...

    I have not looked at your example, but something like this should work.

    If you have a reticule sprite use that and have it position itself on to say the nearest enemy to your tank.

    then simply have the turret set its angle to the reticule.

    Enemy dies have the reticule set itself to the next nearest enemy...
