  • Umm...Well..No.. :)

The first link I posted is rotating the object how I wanted.

I'll try to explain once more and if I'm not clear enough now, i'll lock myself up for a month and challenge C2 for a last-man-standing duel!

    In the capx I posted:

The object is facing 0-degrees, as a default by C2.

As I touch/hold mouse, the object angle follows touch/mouse..

It's all good if I put my finger/mouse back to the exact same angle where it was when I stopped touching and then drag. But if I start to drag from, let's say the start of layout and the object is still 0-degrees. I place my finger to the left side of the screen, the object angle snaps to touch.x, touch.y and then it follows the touch..This is not what I'm looking for..

I would like to see the object rotate from the angle it was left after touch or start of layout, no matter where I place my finger on the screen.

  • Hey, thanks for the posts! But this still doesn't fix what I was after.. Maybe I wasn't clear enough.

I was looking for a way to "store" the angle of the object, so that when you want to rotate it again, it would move from the angle it was set when the touch ended.. Now as you can see from these great examples, it still jumps to the angle of touch before it starts to rotate.

Is this a case for local variables..? I'm still a "semi-noob" to construct and really haven't looked into them yet.

  • Hi again..

I have an object, that is setting its angle to: is in touch-->touch.x, touch.y .

It works fine, but when I lift my finger and place it again on screen, the object angle resets as it should hold the angle that it had when the finger stopped touching..

I think I have seen a forum post about something similar, but of course I'm not able to find it as I need it..

    Help appreciated!!

    CAPX LINK

  • Hello!

I'm hoping that someone could check this capx:

    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/105313968/C2/Slingshot.capx

Im trying to put up some slingshot controls for a game. Yes, it works, somehow.. But the thing is that as you "drag the slingshot", you can see the blue sprite doesn't quite follow the touch/mouse..

Although I have put in an event:

    Every tick-->set position to touch

This is weird and makes a no good control for a game.. I am doing something wrong, but what??

Maybe someone has a better way to create a slingshot....?

  • Yes, the result was better with the event based custom gravity. Thanks though for the gravitation plugin info Spongehammer!

  • Nice, I'll definitely have a look at it! Thank you!

  • Ok, I'm now thinking that I could set the gravity at zero and with events, add force to emulate gravity when needed.. I guess that might solve it.. Can't test it now, but if it does, then sorry for the post.. <img src="smileys/smiley9.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Hello!

Is it possible to create a layout with two separate gravity areas?

The closest thing that comes to my mind is angry birds space.. So you would have a zero gravity area and when you overlap another area, another gravity would kick in, but only affecting the sprites in that area. I'm guessing that the physics "world gravity" is not going to help me in this..

    Any ideas?

  • Hello!

A newbie as I am, I have a question for the wise Construct-community!

If I move the submarine to the top of the layout, it gets stuck.. Why is this??

I had the same problem on an earlier project. I want to tackle this issue from the start so I can focus on other things at the game..

HINT: press *space*, and you will see the light :)

  • I updated the link so that the project shouldn't use the canvas plugin anymore. It wasn't relevant to this anyway...

  • Hello!

I've been fiddling around with construct2 for a few weeks now. I'm Taking babysteps, but I'm already wanting to make a full working game! (duh..)

Now I need an advice on how to make my game's "paddles" to have a throttle.. So it would accelerate counter-clockwise as player presses left, and clockwise pressing right. Also it should have the decelaration enabled.

I tried using the physics throttle, but with no luck..

It's just the basics, so don't expect any massive action in the game.. (yet!!)

Here the .capx (hope the link works):
