  • Looks amazing!Keep it up.

  • Agreed.

Having worked as a game tester for two years, and now software tester, I am 100% prepared to have my own work critized to hell and back. It's the only way forward! :)

  • Correction.

After having some people try and play my game, I can now confirm that the games status is "unpolished turd". Developing for Android sure is an adventure! :)

  • I did it! I finally got a game on Google Play!

Only after publishing it do I realize how much I forgot to add. A full description, game control explanation, etc. <img src="smileys/smiley9.gif" border="0" align="middle">

But at least I got to go through the full process.

    Construct2 -> CocoonJS -> Google Play

And it works pretty well I must say

The game is really nothing much, just a tiny unpolished game to try out the whole process. Link to game

  • Any update on compiling our games by ourselves?

I have the same concerns that you list here.

  • Hello

How would one go about doing this in a neat fashion?

When moving left or right, the different layers (background, objects, front) would move according to their parallax setting, instead of the actual player sprite. The player would just stay in the middle of the screen.

This would be used for making "endless" levels.

This would also require some repeated seamless scrolling of the different sprites on each layer I guess.

    Appreciate any ideas and input!

    Thanks!

  • Try Construct 3

  • I took the leap and purchased a license. Exported my little WIP space game using CocoonJS.

100+ FPS on my Nexus 7.

Not too bad :) Using CocoonJS is easier than expected, and performance seems to be good. Feeling pretty happy about my purchase right now!

  • Not bad at all :)

It seems to run pretty smoothly on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus. I could have used some more feedback on the buttons. Couldn't see if it registered my touch when starting the game.

Another thing. When there's only one enemy left, you still have to select it manually. That could be automated I guess.

    Good job!

  • Hello.

I want to develop games for Android using Construct2. For starters I want to develop for the Google Nexus 7.

So my multipart question is this: How far along has the "publishing to Android" come?

Are there any major pitfalls or performance issues? Can I expect a complete 1:1 version of my game to appear on the Android tablet, or will I have to make changes to existing games?

I do want to purchase the Construct2 license. But it kinda depends on how painful the process is and what kind of performance I can expect.

Love Construct2. Just wish there was a "export to .apk" option.

  • Ah, makes sense. Thank you :)

  • Sounds like what I did.

The problem I have is when running and jumping, as soon as player leaves the ground he looses momentum and stops in mid air.

But I will look into it when I get home, thanks for replying.

PS: Tried your unicorn game, very funny :)

  • ...without stopping the player in mid air.

Hello everyone, thought I might as well make my first Construct2 forum post a question :)

I am trying to emulate a "no input" jump, where it isn't possible to move around, once the player has left the ground. I tried to ignore input when using the platform state "in jump", but that just makes the player stop in mid air.

Posting this from work, so I won't be able to try out anything new before I get home.
