Thank you for your reply, zenox98. I took a look at the thread from the post you linked until the most recent one, and the people at Scirra don't seem to be willing or able to provide a specific timeframe of continued support for Construct 2 -- just the vague statement, "for the foreseeable future", which means nothing to me. For all I know that could be just a few months, giving themselves the liberty to drop it whenever they want. A more specific timeframe such as "until the end of X year", for example, would be a lot more helpful. That way I would have an idea if it's even worth it to invest my time and effort into creating something with version of the software I already paid for. To me, when a company uses the phrase "for the foreseeable future", they're purposely choosing such wording to discharge themselves from any type of commitment. I know, based on experience as a user of other programs that have gone subscription-only. This was enough information for me to make up my mind. Time to look elsewhere. Cheers.
