  • Hi,

Would it be possible to have something like

    If Projectile collides with Projectile

    AND

If this projectile's color=white and that projectile's color = black

    THEN

    Destroy both

In construct 2? I can't figure out how to tell the engine how to refer to this one and that one, and check both variables, and call Destroy on both. Thanks for your help!

  • Thanks everyone for your replies!

Zatyka, your demo was awesome and your dialogue hilarious.

  • The easiest (and most processor-intensive) solution would be to add physics behavior. (Assuming c2 has physics, I don't remember if it does)

Alternatively, just add upwards force to the left object equivalent to the downward force of the right object when the right object lands.

  • [if (Right Key) and angle < 306] Rotate Counterclockwise

[if (no right key) and angle > 0] Rotate Clockwise

I think that should work, let me know if it doesn't.

  • Has anyone written events to create scrolling textboxes that can be clicked through, like in JRPGs or Phoenix Wright? Possibly that can import text from outside files? How could something like that be done?

  • This is something that I notice isn't present, and I have to do some less-than-elegant workarounds as a result. This would allow for inheritance and other really powerful things - some examples in the below link.

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inheritance_%28object-oriented_programming%29

It would be really, really cool.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Are there any workarounds, or other ways that I can play short sounds at high fidelity in my mobile games?

  • Link to .capx file (required!):

    dl.dropbox.com/u/16469485/constructbug.capx

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Preview game - it's a simple test app where touching Crono causes an animation and a sound to play.

    2. Export game to appmobi and run on iPhone (had similar results on CocoonJS but appmobi's sound was moderately better)

    3.

    Observed result:

The sound is different between a PC and the iphone. On iphone, the sound is truncated - interestingly if you touch the character quickly some of the audio plays correctly.

    Expected result:

The sound should be consistent between a PC and mobile

    Browsers affected:

    Chrome: no

    Firefox: no

    Internet Explorer: no

Operating system & service pack: Windows 7

    Construct 2 version: Release 120.2

  • Thanks! That's the method I'm currently using. It'd be faster if we could edit volume directly at playtime, though - one event instead of two.

  • Would it be possible to add the volume control to the Play dialog box for Audio? It would save a lot of time. Thanks!

  • Hi everyone! My name's Chris. I'm a 26 year old New Yorker. I'm a musician, half a programmer and something of a designer, and I've been reading up on producing. I like both tight, responsive action games and games that tell a story or create an experience.

I played with Construct Classic a few years ago, and I'm floored by all the great changes in C2. I'm excited to make great games, and to play great games that you all are making. My current WIP is an action platformer that gleefully borrows ideas from Strider 2 and Shinobi 3, while adding something else in.

If anyone wants to reach out to me regarding composing some music for your project, go right ahead!
